Where are ax restore power missions?

Been in several systems including three in invasion status and can't find any ax restore power missions.

Am i missing something?

They have to be close (20 Ly?) to a Thargoid Control system with a Military settlement. Try looking near MCC 105, the system's got a valid settlement and is being pushed for clear so it'll help the war effort if you find some.

So I've only done a handful of these, but my understanding from where I found them is in Human Controlled systems adjacent to Thargoid Controlled systems.

The way I think about it is like board game tiles. The Thargoids have to launch attacks within one "tile" from their Control to Alert or Invade systems, the same applies to our "attacks". If you find three systems within 20ly like below;

Human Controlled <-> Alert/Invasion <-> Thargoid Controlled

Then there should be AX Reactivation missions at at least one of the Stations/Settlements in the Human Controlled system in that scenario.
Station/settlement types may play a factor, though I did two from a High-Tech settlement, so I don't think it's exclusively Military bases.

This is all just what I'm assuming based on the few of these I've done, what I've read in the AX Restore Tactics thread, and assuming these missions work similar to Thargoid Invasion rules being worked out by Ian Doncaster and others in the Analyzing Thargoid BGS thread.

Are AX power restore missions even working? I've taken almost a dozen in different locations in recovery mode, and without exception when I get to the site the power is up and running and the site is fully populated. I've tried in solo and private groups, and taken missions from terminals and within the ship, etc. All I'm getting is bounties on my head for "stealing" the power regulators provided for the missions. Am I missing something?

These are not "hard" ax restoration missions, which you can find in thargoid recovery systems. You can find right missions in Khwal, for example, to Mapon.

I'm taking the missions for (and sometimes from) systems in Thargoid Recovery state, and they're specifically labeled "AX Power Restoration". Is there more to it?
I'll check out Khwal/Mapon tonight.

Yes, there are two types of ax restoration missions - to recovery system settlements and to thargoid controlled system settlements.
First type of mission is not "real" AX, because there's no thargoids (no scouts, no revenants) and often this settlements are already online. You shoud check if settlement is offline or online in system map, before you accept the mission. There are often some pirates and many times you should use your own power regulator. and this mission can send you in any type of settlement.
Second type is, I would say, "real" AX, because it will send you behind enemy lines, in thargoid controlled systems, only in military settlements. You should be ready to be hyper/interdicted couple of times on the way there, you'll find the revenants patrolling etc. Reward is much better.

Thank you! This is exactly the information I was looking for. o7!

Why are there no missions for the past 2 weeks? I have looked for these several times to go do one and zilch. I am using the DCoH filtered to Alert systems with power restore missions available. https://dcoh.watch/

There were plenty last week before the alert systems were completed.
There are none this week because there aren't any populated alerts close enough to controlled systems with military settlements.

Ixbalan has quite a few but beware there are powered up settlements, been getting a lot of engineering unlocks such as opinion polls.

HIP 21918 Has plenty of missions and sites.
There are zero missions here despite all the odyssey settlements still being offline.
I can't tell exactly how these recovery systems are meant to work any more (they also have lists of required quantities of materials to be delivered in each station's message board but repair themselves regardless of targets being met) but they definitely don't seem to be working as intended, when it seems the most beneficial thing to do is simply ignore them.

This is part of a sad, ongoing trend with the Thargoid war. The devs design interesting things to do, but then we don't get to do them because they are no longer available.
The list includes:
  1. Evacuating people from damages stations in invasion systems
  2. Ground AX combat zones (which are only in invasion systems)
  3. AX Restoration missions - which require the mission giving system to be in an Alert state and a controlled system with military settlements within 20 ly. The choices were rare before the Devs added the Alert state requirement. Now they are even more rare because there aren't many alerts/Thargoids pushed back.
The next one coming to that list will be these new AX spire sabotage missions. It's only a matter of time before all the spire sites are destroyed and these missions aren't available.

I've given up and only log in once a week to do standard ground missions to hit my ARX cap and then go back to playing Starfield. My point of this post is a feel sorry for the Devs who design all these different missions types/locations. We only get to see them for a little bit and then - poof - gone forever. Heck, I still miss the old style damaged station evacuations - which have been long gone since the war started. And the danger posed by the two new interceptors to rescue ships - well, what's the threat if there are no rescues to run.

Rescues from alerts do are still available, but kind of… uneventful. A hyperdiction on the way in, which is always only interceptors that are unlikely to catch up before you high wake, unless you fly an Anaconda or something similarly ‘slow’. Follows, a supercruise journey with nothing.

Then there is usually, but not always, a Scythe hyperdiction going out. Used to have interdictions going out as far as ~72 ly from a Titan, too, before… Frontier just removed them entirely for no obvious reason.

What I dislike most about the absence of damaged port scenarios is that they even changed it completely from a mostly inactive instance to something that has Scythes lurking nearby and with the capability of 5 or more interceptors to be in the same instance, in U16. The only time anyone got to experience that?

Right about at the end of U16s life. Yeah. I had a fair bit of fun with it even without engaging in combat with the Scythes or interceptors, because it was damn chaotic.

Yeah have checked daily and nothing I was looking forward to going at one with a banshee protecting it. Oh well back to the grind

You should be able to find some around Oya next cycle(so starting tomorrow). The alert predictions look right to have alerts within range for AX reactivation missions in controlled space.

Reminder, Banshees are big and tough.
