Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

I honestly feel like this could be a hit if it was done. Take all these small ideas I’ve seen everyone here have like the cruise ships, aquariums, etc. All of them are too small for their own game so just connect them together in one big game.
Planet Ocean could include:
  • Beaches and Shorelines using slightly enhanced terrain tools from PZ.
  • The ability to make Cities on large islands using pieces from PZ with some more themed ones.
  • Full Aquatic species (This could also solve the PZ crisis, have birds in PZ2 and put aquatics in this game)
  • Create Aquariums and Sanctuaries.
  • Create Boat / Cruise ship tours
  • A few semi aquatic animals like seals, walrus, sea lions, turtles, etc
I think the main thing that separates this from PZ could be that instead of having a blank map where you start, you could have it start in a blank ocean or have a “random island generator” with custom settings like how big the islands are.

Planet Museum is the only one I might buy. They'd have to walk a fine line - make it mostly science center / art gallery based, or only use fictional Planco things for historical artifacts - but it could be entertaining.

(Especially if they make managing artifact storage a part of the game play)

I'm not sure some of these fit into the whole Planet series where creativity is the key aspect to the game. These have technically got modern games to fill the niche with management and complex building through assets:

Planet railway - transport fever
Planet airport - sim airport and airport ceo
Planet Cargo - transport fever again
Planet farm - farm manager or farm sim to an extent

Back to the DLC speculation, does anyone remember the ‘bird pack leak’ back in June? If it is real, which it probably isn’t, it would make sense for a fall pack because it’s the biggest break between packs. This would give them more time to work on the pack, rigs, and animations. Probabky not happening, but you can never be too sure.

Imagine how mad this forum will get if they make a Planet Coaster 2 with aquarium and flying birds included. It's almost worth wishing for just to see the meltdown :ROFLMAO:

The "leak" specified an Expansion Pack, a break from the current DLC model. But based on the data releases so far, it doesn't look anything different from the usual DLC type releases. Therefore Q1 2024 is the absolute earliest it can happen imo.

Yeah, that "leak" was almost certainly just something that wasn't real. But if it were it would be an absolute dream. It could be a good December release too, just hold off on releasing it for two months. Or it could work for the spring too. Honestly a bird focused pack would not sit well with every player but I do think it would be a success.

Just imagine... A normal dlc this september, not october. A highlands scenery pack. Cool and good. Everyone likes it and that's all. But, maybye it was too soon. The anniversary comes with a free animal, and suddenly... In middle December, is announced: The Aviary Expansion dlc. Ahh man, everyone can dream, it will not happen anyways, but a man can dream 😢.
I don't have expectations to that happen, but it would be awesome!

Even if this was real, which again I doubt it is, they wouldn’t put in the fall. Winter is the most profitable month for them so even if it’s ready or almost done they would save it for winter.

Only problem for me is we already can create a Safari in PZ, we have the jeep and everything else. I would just rather a Safari pack next year giving us the remaining African species so we can be done with Africa species and focus on other continents.

Exactly. If they do it good, it would be a success. Of course not all players want birds at all, but well, not everyone can enjoy everything. I can like more birds than mammals or reptiles than birds, but other people will like more the African Ungulates than birds. It's normal and basic each other preferences, but have more variety for everyone should be the goal here. Having caprines, felids, birds, antelopes, bears, mustelids, and all long. Just for now isn't that equal enough 😅

I would definitely buy planet farm 🤩 it could be really great game
