Well the overall animal diversity sucked and the habitat creativity was little to none existent, even less with the mini exhibits. But one has to acknowledge the nice roster of small animals like birds, agoutis and numbats provided here. Something that is nearly always ignored in Zoo games. Thats what people enjoyed, not the mini exhibits in itself i assumefunny that everyone here seens to like the animal diversity and mini-exhibits from ZT 2013, because they are the two of the worst aspects of the game in my opinion.
My feelings exactly. Yeah, there was limited fun to be had in filling the 'mini-exhibits' with the animals available but at least those animals were there.Well the overall animal diversity sucked and the habitat creativity was little to none existent, even less with the mini exhibits. I'll dispute that. It was four species of capuchin, each visually distinct. The agouti were also distinct species.4 sub-species of capuchin.
Even if all the agoutis were 2 distinct I don't think you need 9 of them. Like I'd take 3 at most.I'll dispute that. It was four species of capuchin, each visually distinct. The agouti were also distinct species.
I don't disagree; I just don't think it's fair to lump them and the capuchins with the other cut-and-dry clones in the game (though all share identical models anyway).Even if all the agoutis were 2 distinct I don't think you need 9 of them. Like I'd take 3 at most.
You never played the original Zoo Tycoon? Man that game was just the best. This is all interesting since my first zoo game was planet zoo, I missed out on my childhood obviously
I love the game! Got it for Christmas back then and sat with my younger brother all the time and we played. I could have sworn I got the game in 1999, but the wiki says it was released in 2001. I would have put my hand in the fire for the fact that we were sitting at the pc at the turn of the millennium. I believe the four animal demo was out before 2001 (I remember playing it religiously even though it only had lions, giraffes, chimps, and something else I believe).I love the game! I even still have the game, just looked through my games yesterday and thought to myself: "It's been a long time."
Hard to believe it's been 22 years already.
Wait? What? The weirdest thing was having tapirs be mini exhibit animals.
Yea, it was really weird.Wait? What?
The weidest thing was the absence of the pygmy hippo and the giant panda. The weirdest thing was having tapirs be mini exhibit animals.
I think the weirdest thing was the absence of any zebras. The weidest thing was the absence of the pygmy hippo and the giant panda.
It was definitely the full version. Back then it was still in a CD sleeve and in a nice big box. Marine Mania and the Dinosaurs came later in the DVD box.I believe the four animal demo was out before 2001 (I remember playing it religiously even though it only had lions, giraffes, chimps, and something else I believe).
