Really not all that ironic imo. Im still hoping for both african and desert, aswell as african desert animals because most of the animals i really wanted that fit those categories were omitted from the arid pack

Stop! I had enough of Africa oriented pack. I can accept some african animals here and there in the coming DLCs but that's all. For weeks I thought everyone here was on the same boat, wanting Temperate Forest, Mountains, Coastal or children zoo pack and now everyone is talking about african safari? I'm lost and I hope PZ developers are not reading the comments here :')
Not for the next couple packs, I’m pretty sure everyone wants a Safari pack for next summer, not anytime soon. Plus I really don’t think we’re gonna get that many African animals for the rest of this year anyway.

After arid dlc I really don’t want any more hoofstock africa. There’s African animals I want but I really do not want another dlc to be exclusive to continent as I have enjoyed previous dlcs that were not exclusive to one continent.
I get a feeling new world AU and EU will get some rep this time around. 7 days till September, I can realistically see an announcement in 2-3 weeks. But the big question remains, will frontier do what they did last year and switch the formula or will they adapt to the new formula of the last year with builds and animal dlcs?

I still think that the reason they’ve been providing us with so many less desired species is because they are saving the highly requested animals for many more future packs that are already planned.
There are no actual indications to think that support is going to end up soon. It may even last even as long as Sims 4 with new different DLC’s after 9 years from the premiere. That is at the end the exact Frontier strategy, to nurture.
PZ has a very loyal fanbase and still sells very well. Why would they end the game which brings them regular income with not so much effort? That just makes no sense.
EA could have released Sims 5 years ago but for some reason they didn’t. They nurture the game they’ve created nearly a decade ago.
It really makes me think that it could be very similar with PZ.

Wombat, Raccoon, Pallas Cat, Meerkat and Porcupine - oh wait you said backyard, I was gonna keep these in my house
I was on this same thought but after Arid Pack I’m not so sure. The Arid Pack had only 2 top 15 animals (I think) one of which was a clone from what we already had (camel) they must have known that those 2 alone wouldn’t be able to carry the excitement, because I think we all know the porcupine is the all time star of the pack.
Not saying the rest of the animals like the rhino or ass aren’t exciting, but they aren’t as requested as the porcupine or camel, which would get most people’s attention. Even removing the Sand Cat and replacing it with either Secretary or Baboon, both of which would only need one new animation, which they would’ve had time for if the cat was removed.
I still want to believe they’re saving them for next year, but idk with the new planet game coming it’s a toss up if support will last past summer 2024.

From my observations outside this forum people were mostly excited by the camel and donkey. Not so many people were talking about the porcupine

Try to look at comments on their official channels on fb or instagram. They show that regular players value completely different things there.
For example I was shocked but wild ass reveal gathered largest amount of likes among other Arid pack species. Nearly two times more than porcupine.
Same with red river hog from Tropical pack, Striped hyena from Grasslands animal pack and Red fox from Twilight. That clearly shows the popularity.
