Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

I'm willing to bet the moment we get the ABB the americans on the forum are going to move the goalposts again and declare the coyote or whatever "the only animal left to complete north america"
They're actually asking for a north american porcupine back to back after the african crested that's how crazy they are.

And what is wrong with that? Both animals couldnt be more different.
Do you really think it is likely Frontier will release NA Porcupine right after the Arid Pack? After all, the porcupine was the star of the previous pack and we know it didn't sell very well. So let's dilute it further by releasing another (lesser profile) porcupine in the next pack. Brilliant strategy.

After so many attempts I think I've got the most realistic and enjoyable temperate pack at least for me, 2 Oceania representatives, 1 North America representative, and 2 European representatives, one of which is a turtle which I've seen a lot of demand for if its a regular exhibit animal.

Tassie Devil (heavily requested), Black Bear (last must have for NA officially completing the continent), Kiwi (bird of the year and a popular one at that), and the boar which some consider essential and others consider a wildcard (mainly referring to the general audience).
Absolute nightmare for me. Nothing interesting and very repetitive. Sorry but for me it is.

The animals are nothing alike, and also not closely related, so I'd actually love that. And criticism for the arid pack was about the focus on ungulates, not the porcupine.

But thats what everybody is doing. If you take the top 10 animals from the wishlist, go back in time to 2020 and show these around calling them the missing essentiells, people would call you crazy

Well, sorry to burst your bubble but the chances of a temperate pack in Q3 getting it is almost close to 0 percent. A bit of common sense would tell you that.

Maybe wait till next year at earliest, for example we got the red deer in November 2022 after the Europe Pack deer in Q4 2021. That's about the earliest possibility.

I'm not one of the people hyping a temperate pack, but what makes you think the chances are close to 0%?

We don't have any hints except the very vague climate pattern. The pack could be anything.
Because Frontier wants people to buy the Arid Pack and the porcupine is one of the few stars/distinctive animals and if they release another porcupine in autumn right after summer, even fewer people will buy the arid pack which they don't want.

Hence they will wait till next year when this issue becomes less important, discounts are being offered, ect.

Two of the most well received species from arid on fb and insta were the donkey and the rhino. Nearly nobody from the wider audience was interested in porcupine 🤷🏽

Mass customer want birds, fully aquatics and console version. They don’t care about roster regional equality because most wanted star zoo species are already in the game and Frontier knows that well.

Maybe expect from tassie which is super rare outside Australia and baboon that would probably happen anyway.

Which actually leads me to a question: say you get unlimited roster slots to complete the roster for your country's wildlife. What do you pick?
White stork
Wild boar
Wild cat
Pine or beech marten
Capercailie
Ring necked pheasant
Mallard
White swan
European adder
European pond turtle
European green lizard
Slowworm
Wisent
Euroasian river otter
Alpine marmot
Chamoise
Couple Traditional domestic breeds
Harbor seal
Shore birds
Hawks, eagles, owls
Ravens

If there is ever the opportunity for them id also add honey bees and a couple native fish

But with unlimited slots id probably add just every species in existence :D

But the lack of animal diversity in two back to back packs will hurt them even among people not interested in porcupines.

Let's say you buy a Q3 temperate pack which contains a porcupine, you go back to Arid and you see another porcupine. You say to yourself, well I just bought a porcupine, and the game already has camel and antelope and rhino. So you pass.

It would make no sense for them to release two porcupines right next to each other. If they did it, it would be a very stupid marketing strategy and move.

Edit: for clarification this happenns with almost every region on the forums, not just the US
Pointing out that I've been hoping for the ABB since before the North America pack dropped. They really are the last ABC animal missing from North America and while I get why some people don't want them the vehemence is getting obnoxious. Its like people saying (pre grasslands) that wallabies and emus are wasted slots for Australia because we already had cassowarys and kangaroos.

As for the coyote... It would never be a first pick for me, but if others want it and get what they want I'm not going to begrudge them. I think North American birds, the porcupine, black footed ferret, wolverine, and snapping turtle would bring more to the game.

I also feel it pertinent to point out that I am not American, though even if I were I don't think that anyone's nationality should invalidate their desire to see their favourite animals in a digital zoo simulator.

But a NA porcupine isnt what makes or breaks temperate pack, so why isnt it possible that well get a temperate pack without a porc?

Wouldn't it be funny if they decided to just blindside up with a fully aquatic pack.

I keep thinking about shaking and mixing. To me I immediately think liquid. What if it's milk formula for baby petting zoo animals that they're mixing and shaking guys 😂
I think the option that Frontier does something really unexpected is still very real imo.
Im not dying for a Temperate pack, so if the roster and scenery is nice im down for pretty much anything
