Alright I’m gonna change the topic cause I have absolutely nothing to add to the current one going on

.
What do you feel is the most and least complete continent we have? How many animals you guys think it would take to make the one you choose as the least, complete again?
Little Ranking shall we?
1. Antarctica: Duh
2. North America (mostly excluding central america): While there are some more neat Animals to be added like the NA Porcupine, birds or the ringtail, it really does not need them. Ironically the animal that seems most missing would be a general ungulate that isnt as niche as the reindeer or moose, so if you dont want to play pretend the big horn sheep and even white tailed deer have its merrits, but i think we all can agree that they arnt the most inspired choices and that using a fallow deer (which are kept there) as a sub for a generic deer would work more then fine.
3. Africa: Does Africa have more to offer? Yes. Does Africa allready offer more then anybody else? Yes. Does the least biodiverse area of africa have allmost as much representation as europe and oceania as a whole? Also yes. While yes more birds like the white faced whistling duck, marabou stork or southern ground hornbill would be nice, it allready has one for the land and one for the water and even with the monkeys, while we only have the drill we still got 3 apes and 3 lemures as other primates to slot in so we are pretty much coverd.
There is no niche not present here, no size or animal type and the few that arnt like crocs are allready arguably overrepresented in the game. You can allways add more to africa, but the truth is this will only add to an allready amazing roster full of iconic, unique and distinct animals. The only reason why its below north america eventhough it is far better represented is that while north america does not offer much in whats not there africa is a gift that keeps on giving, where we could easily get 3 more animal packs africa exclusive and most people would be happy, meanwhile we got 1 animal and 2 scenery packs with an NA focus and the majority of players seem to be decidedly sick of it.
4. Europe: Europe is the first region thats still missing key species and general diversity, as imo atleast 18 Habitat animals per continent would ensure a bottom level of diversity. For the key species, europe needs the wild boar to mix up its ungulates, birds with the mallard duck, mute swan, white stork and western cappercallie all 4 having really really good reasons to be in the game and some dedicated climbers, as we currently have none with onyl the lynx even able to climb, so the red squirrel and beech marten would fill that role greatly. Add in the alpine marmot to round out the mountains and we got a mix of 22 species that cover all sizes, biomes and most taxonomic groups of the continent + the few stand ins from northamerica like the beaver for a great variety of options.
5. Asia: Asia has a lot of animals, yes but it also still has some gaping holes, most notably ungulates, birds and monkeys. Thankfully asia also has been the most expanded continent so far, so even so it got a great mix of different animals, but its holes are simply more gaping then europes. My inclusions would be the black buck, nilgai, reevees muntjak, domestic yak and a takin to fill out the ungulates, a langur and a small variety of birds, most notably the mandarin duck, 2 pheasents and the barheaded goose.
While there are more animals id very much like to see like the ruddy shelduck, yellow throated marten and a variety of more primates, but those 10 are what id define as actually needed for a well rounded roster without any particular holes.
6. Oceania: Poor Poor Oceania, Guy got shanked and most people dont even care or recognise it. How is the objectivly most different continent in its fauna at the same time the one with the least animals? Are they not the most common in zoos? Yes but also not that rare, especally as most zoos include more oceanian animals then kangaroos, red necked wallabys and emus into their catalogs as they modernise. For the most needed the tassie devil, a second wallaby like the swamp, yellowfooted or parmas, the victoria crowned pidgeon, a tree kangaroo, common brushtailed possum, lace monitor, brush-tailed bettong, shortbeaked echidna, magpie goose and pignosed turtle are all atleast decently common and most importantly on a steady rise in atleast the EAZA and thats just the talk of a european guy who did his reasearch on EAZA facilitys. Cant imagine how depressing the Oceanian representation is for people that actually live there. And i havent even touched on other rarer animals that would be nice to have like the kiwi or the little blue penguin. Just a shame really
7. South America: What is here to say? Frontiers anti bird and monkey policy really shanked this place. Bottom line for monkeys are 2 tamarins, a howler, spider, white faced saki, squirrel and really we could go on and on with more tamarins, marmosets, the coppery titi, night monkeys, etc. Birds? Where are the birds? This might be the only region where flying birds feel nessecary, as south america will frankly never feel completle without macaws, but even then the scarlet ibis, roseate spoonbill and a rhea are the minimum with other greats like the serima being even more of a pipe dream. Maras, agoutis and chinchillas are commonly kept and iconic rodents and even the normaly spoiled groups of animals are lacking here with no small cat like the ocelot or bear with the spectacle bear and only 2 ungulates to speak of that could easily be extended with the southern pudu, a peccary or even the guanaco or the south american tapir. It even could use a second sloth and armadillos so we get some actually found in zoos. Its sad. South america could easily double in animals and we all know that that wont happen. So yeah, ouch
