actually blues and cape are in the same climate zone, we still didn't get something like a galapagos penguin which would be proper warm climate

To be honest, the drink said smile not laugh, however I do think the arboreal mechanics might be too difficult for Frontier so they just decided to go the easy route. Maybe they are saving tree kangaroo for an arboreal pack with improved tree mechanics.

If the pack does end up being devil, quokka, kiwi, and little blue penguin blue, pretty disappointing roster for me personally. Devil is nice, but would've preferred animals with more western zoo presence. With it being a scenery pack the quality of the pieces is probably going to determine if I buy it right away or get it on sale. The viewing domes and orangutan brachiation is amazing, though.
If the orange gorilla can swing on trees now, frontier is running out of excuses to not include arboreal animals.
Fair point! That slipped my mind in the moment (too much going on today). So we can call two of them pretty likely locks. But still. I think my general point stands.
There's been several instances in the past where the broader community thought we had theme and roster down from the livestream and were pretty far off for the theme and/or specific species. It's just wild watching people battle it out over whether it's gonna be a quokka or a tree kangaroo with such aggression. LOL
EDIT: And there's strong rationale for including either in the pack! And the hint could readily apply to either. Tree kangaroo would add variety (i.e., it's arboreal - all other animals are ground-dwelling) and is higher requested but would likely be more challenging to create. Quokka would be cuter and easier to make but is less requested. It's literally a coin toss based on the stream and the wishlist, TBH.

That's the thing they can't really standardise the arboreal animal animations. Every animal will have to be somewhat unique and that takes work. This is why we have single animal fixes for brachiation all the time.
The arboreal "team" probably spent all their resources fixing the orangutan and thus couldn't work on a tree kangaroo.
I do think there's a solid chance the penguin is actually the southern rockhopper, which would be an okay habitat species for western zoos. I'm far from 100% on it, but I'm still leaning that way at the moment. It would definitely be my top habitat species in the pack if so.
Who's "battling" over it being tree kangaroo? Nobody has posted a single actual reason it could be.

Rockhopper would be great but not sold on it. I have wanted more penguins in the game for a while to make mixed penguin exhibits, but the little blue penguin doesn't really help me with that.

- What we have guess so far, I am least excited for the Little Blue Penguin, however, I think its good to have a third penguin! And it is very different with its blueish color
- Lorikeets, would add colorful and cute life to WE. They are found from Australia to SE Asian islands! They are also common in zoos around the world. Solid pick.
- Kiwi is about as unique as birds get IMO. May not be common in captivity but they are so cool looking I don't care.
- An animal that has been anticipated for years: Tasmanian Devil looks like some cat dog thing. Its adorable in its funny way! I am super excited to see what its requirements are and it may become my favorite animal added to the game in a while!
- Yet, what I am most looking forward to is: Quokka. I know it wasn't requested, but I can't wait to see Frontier's take on it! Its face is so cute! I am glad for yet another marsupial! It looks completely different to any marsupials and is very adorable. I hope Frontier does justice to its adorableness fluff.
I'd love for the rockhopper to get in, Little Blue is cute but I'd go for another Antarctic penguin
