Planet Zoo: Oceania Pack arriving 19 Sep 🐧

It's either a lackluster free update, or something that they want to keep under wraps for as long as possible for a reason.
Based on the preview videos, it's not lackluster at all. I think everything it entails has been revealed now and it's bigger and much better than the last one. They'd only want to keep it under wraps to avoid spoiling the DLC but that was achieved last Tuesday. Just an interesting change to their marketing strategy, I wonder if they'll carry on this way now. I hope not, I like getting excited about the updates along with the packs and I'd rather see it all for myself first rather than through youtube videos (obviously noone is forcing me to watch the videos 😅 but ya know, can't help myself)

what are you talking about? i think it's one of the best updates we got a least lately, i wanted viewing bubbles since the meerkats! and orangutan brachiation don't need to explain, because it's talking from itself. of course it's not a big update but it's quality update with amazing stuff in it and i don't mind if those are gonna be the updates that we gonna get that they are small but with quality.

and also i haven't watched any video to avoid spoilers and tomorrow to check everything by myself!

Could you save it in chunks as blueprints and then plonk them into a new map? Major pain if there are lots of tiny pieces I know 😊 (and re-doing the paths!)
I considered it but there's too much terrain modification already. It's no big deal, I'll keep playing it for a few days. I always end up doing something I hate that I can't reverse easily and starting again.

Don't we all? I currently have my 7th zoo set in Longview, TX, because I mess up and restart. This time, though, I think I'm truly satisfied. Moonshine Ranch is a go.

Now to make my 2nd zoo...

I'm kind of in the same boat, I started something a couple of weeks ago with a big coastal type area, having NO clue that the next DLC would not be woodland themed! Now I'd love to chuck it all down on the new island map but I don't think I can put myself through that much pain. I even built a freaking volcano 🤣

I am dyyyyying 😂 Moonshine Ranch sounds like my kind of hangout 😂😂🤣😂

Meanwhile my current Red River Wildlife Park is named after my favourite bar in Vietnam 😅
What's funny is that I don't really drink alcohol, much less beer and moonshine. I shoulda used my favorite drink: the Texas Tea Ranch (a play on words. Texans love their sweet tea and Texas tea refers to oil)...

Hmm, what should my next zoo be?

I must say I'm really happy with this pack and update. It's great to see Frontier reverse their decision to never make changes to the front-end globe again. I hope this change prompts updates for other regions like South America, Japan, Florida, Northern India, and Western Asia.

One small constructive criticism would be that, according to this image, on the front-end globe, 'Temperate' biome along Australia's east coast extends a bit too far north than it should. In reality, tropical and subtropical forests and savannas stretch further south, well into south-central Queensland, except for the southernmost bit. In the case of savannas, they extend even further south, into NSW. Wanted to point out this detail before release, in case it affects potential fixes.

For an island map? Hmm I love the words sweet tea. Sweet Tea Atoll? Or you like kangaroos and white tigers right? One of them could be the main attraction and it could be called Roo Island or White Tiger Atoll. Or a play on words, something like Animarchipelago.

Maybe I'll do another volcano on an island and call it Dragon's Nest Island and make use of those lava rocks. A bit cheesy but hey! My last few zoos have been quite minimalist so it would be fun to do something totally different.

How about really cheesy and go with Quell's Paradise Zoo - then plaster it with dirty water and trash...

I actually am thinking about making my fantasy zoo for real now: Quell's Covert

And for the volcano one, how about Obsidian Isle Zoo?

Lmao!

Ahhh yeah do it!! Island map - no better time to go for it 😁 would love to see the progress / inspiration!

Oooh Obsidian Isle. That's good. Sounds dangerous. It could have only fierce predators 🐺🐻🐧

Question for the content creators: Can you build to the edges, or at least one of the edges on the new island map?
Looking at it in DeLady's video it has square edges that don't extend to the coast. Looked a little smaller than the grassland maps too.

Sorry, not a CC but in case they don't see this, thought I'd answer. Take a look at DeLady's video for a good view of it.
