You'd be amazed how deep the rabbit hole goes when it comes to protocols and storage formats made by millennials.XML is such a waste of otherwise perfectly good characters.
Hey, you hurt my feelings by forgetting X4!And Starfield…
…Empyrion Galactic Survival, Space Engineers, No Man’s Sky, Space Bourne 2, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw…
… there’s a heck of a lot of Space Games out there right now, come to think of it.![]()
Note the total doesnt reach 100% because while JSON is about 100 times faster than XML, there are still better formats for high performance exchanges. For games where you control the client code, binary formats offer even better results.
Same as for CIG developing a Jesus Tech or fidelicious feature... It was just a matter of "weeks not months" for SF modding scene to get to implement this:
My bet is we'll get ToW in SF before it happens (if ever) in SC :]
A fair point. You can’t land on planets at all, thus never got around to playing it, so I tend to overlook that one.Hey, you hurt my feelings by forgetting X4!
I keep getting X4 adverts on youtube, it's such a good advert I'm almost tempted to reinstall it after having only played it briefly on release.A fair point. You can’t land on planets at all, thus never got around to playing it, so I tend to overlook that one.
I added it to my list. I’m pretty sure I missed many more than that, but I deliberately excluded failed space games like Dual Universe, Hellion, or Starbase…
Here's a few things ive also discovered:
- To open the hangar ramp of the Idris you need to pilot it, force crash your game and when you spawn back in its suddenly open
- You cant take off from the hangar. The engines are disabled/dont function
- The 1SCU Cargo box turned out to be Maze
I bet they did this as a way to counter players stealing it.
Just a temporary way to give players who steal it a wanted level when they inevitably get scanned by security ships flying around.
I don't think I wouldYou'd be amazed how deep the rabbit hole goes when it comes to protocols and storage formats made by millennials.
There is indeed a mass exodus. It happens every year. Unfortunately, data indicates sharper declines of the player base and interest. If a mod for Starfield enables multiplayer, I suspect SQ42 will have a steep hole to climb out of.
I, for one, have lost interest and am actively selling my account. Being a previous employee of CIG, I'm telling everyone that it's bad news. In 10 years, how many game play loops have been completed? How is the introduction sequence and tutorial? Chris Roberts recently truncated SQ42 down to a single chapter release.
I'm not waiting 25 years for another video game...
