I do the get out of my seat animation each time. What can I say, I did like that aspect of SC. Starfield does a great job of capturing that feel of being in and living in your own ship in space, or on a planet. The difference, of course, is that in Starfield, I also have the ability to interact with the interior of my ship, cook, clean, build, sit and read, check inventory, even just stare out the window as the acid rain pelts the glass, and as some weird alien fauna I've never seen floats by.Even in Starfield, I mostly hit the button to exit the ship directly from the cockpit rather than get up and walk
In hindsight, it was a stupid idea to take advantage of the free Corsair's greatly increased storage while I still have it and move ship modules, armor pieces and such from Olisar to a space station... The inventory didn't get the memo about "game without loading screens". sigh2nd day of release going well.
Why would I, if there’s a more convenient way of accessing that function?Would you still go to the work stations if you could just access their functionality from a menu while sat in the Captains chair?
No no, Boredgamer says the servers have been "ok for him".Spectrum is on fire. Much more than usual. Similar salt levels to 3.18 I’d say.
Its quite amazing how with so much time and money CIG still can't do things other games do better with less time and money. Did you see those rag doll "physics"?
Looks like me playing Call of Duty twenty years ago on a really crappy connection. Well done, CI, you magnificent innovators. You really are bringing the spirit of the late XX / early XXI century back into gaming.Would you like some networking with you Star Marine?

That second thread title is kinds of silly. Dreams was the thing a lot of them been saying all along, so yeah they were paying for dreams, but only now are they realizing the people they paid (or pretty much any game studio) wouldn't be able to make it come true.![]()
The way 3.20 dropped makes it obvious why 4.0 will not come anytime soon - Star Citizen Spectrum
A feature-light patch like 3.20 without any new core systems after almost a year of implementing PES and this is what we got?! Years of development and delays on a ship to get it right and all that...robertsspaceindustries.com

Discrepancies Between Marketing Material and In-Game Experience - Are We Paying for Artistic Dreams? - Star Citizen Spectrum
I've been pondering a pressing issue that's hard to ignore in our beloved Star Citizen universe. It's about the ever-widening gap between the aggressive marketing and the actual in-game reality....robertsspaceindustries.com

Criticism on Spectrum is not welcome.
SaltEMike has ripped apart from the 3.20 marketing videos. Repeatedly saying he'd love to play the game they are showing off, but its not Star Citizen.
They show off Pyro and areas with multiple Idrises in, basically showing off stuff that doesn't exist in 3.20.
Its blatant false advertising.
You're assuming SQ42 wouldn't be a total disappointment. I get the feeling its an interactive movie based on how much was said about the reshoot and mocap compared to how little was said about gameplay. That marketing thread is full of people defending CIG saying "Its marketing, people should know better" or "Its been 12 years, everyone should know CIG do it this way"
One person made a good comment, along the lines of "Its not like CIG came to us cap in hand asking for money, saying they wouldn't be like other developers"
CIG promised no lies, no rubbish, and instead have become as bad as the worst game devs/publishers out there.
And besides, SC backers might know its a load of cow manure, but people who aren't backers, who just stumble upon the videos, will not necessarily know. They are being actively misled by CIG, who are probably desperate for more backers to keep the money flowing.
Actually, i'm going to go out on a limb here, based on how desperate CIG seem to be getting now, with the China tour and other things. I'm going to say that unless CIG really pull something out of the bag in the coming year, like a SQ42 release or something significant for SC, then 2024 will be the year when CIG's funding will really start to dry up.
I know... making predictions regarding SC/CIG is a fool's game. They've somehow managed to keep funding going for 12 years without releasing a product (ok Viajero, we know, its already technically released, let's say releasing a releasable product if you like), but screw it, the prediction is made. I expect Golgot or someone to quote me in a year or so time regardless of what happens![]()
