Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

When you're revisiting places you've been before? I've never NOT seen it happen. I can't find any way to stop it happening.

More fun bugs - items of furniture completely disappearing in outposts. I really should have known better than to play a Bethesda game straight after release. I waited nearly a year before playing Skyrim for the first time and I probably should have done the same here.
Ahh! I see what you mean now. I probably never noticed it because I haven't really been following the story and just go about exploring. But you are correct, there is no cut scene and your character appears outside the ship. Someone will mod that out.

It's fun when you return to Titan or Cydonia for the first time and haven't put your suit on...

Has anyone else seen NPCs turn up in their underwear? I thought it was a bikini at first as the NPC was remarking on the weather. Then Security turned up without their uniform either...👀

Sounds like a feature rather than a bug [insert naughty man emoji]

Question - when you say bounty hunting, is this space ship combat, on foot combat, or both? I could see a version where you have to find someone in their ship, disable their ship, board their ship, and take them alive for the maximum payout. That would be pretty epic. Is this how it's done in Starfield?
There are different kind of bounty hunting, but what I've done so far is pretty much like in RDR2, also the person X need to disappear for good type of missions. The good about it you always end up getting involved in all kind of side quests :D

I was using a shotgun the first time I encountered zero-g combat. The recoil shot me backwards out of range of the enemies, and I smashed into a wall behind me. It was amusing. But I switched to lasers after that haha.
use the force Luke!! just pull your self towards the enemy as you shoot :devilish:

...oh my.... zero-g gunplay is hilarious.... and I am dreadful at it.....

Zero G boarding actions are fantastic if the rest of the game was this good ED might have had some competition! Personally I use a Magpulse.

They had the same bug in FO4, you'd think they'd have patched this by now...

Work continues on my new C Class, for now just a teaser...

I've discovered they're not disappearing, they're actually hovering in space above the outpost. Looks like their Z co-ordinates are being screwed up. I'm guessing there will be no way to patch this later as there won't be an obvious way of knowing what height they were originally supposed to be at. So I guess my only option is to revert to a save before that and then wait for a patch.

Edit: The obvious difference between the last good save and the first bad one is that I hired an extra crew member, one of the generic ones. But I also did a load of outpost building stuff as well.

While surveying a planet I came across an abandoned military facility with a Ecliptic presence. After a sweet little firefight I found this nice little boomstick in a chest. I'm not much of a sniper player (I prefer a more "direct" approach), but this is now my go-to hunting rifle :)

I think my guy has been through too many UNITYs.

That's a quite cool portrait. I have no idea what you have been doing in the game, but I don't want to know because it would be a big spoiler. Looks like your character has become something more than a normal human. Does he have electronics embedded in his body?

I have not seen anyone here complaining about the star map in Starfield, so I'll do that now. The star map is unpractical and poorly implemented because:
  • It shows only very few star system names. Not even nearly all of those that I have visited, and none of those that I have not visited, have a name label.
  • It does not zoom out to show the whole map.
  • It rotates only very little.
  • It does not have a search function. This combined with the lack of name labels for most systems makes it practically impossible to find a system based on a name.
So the galaxy map in ED is vastly superior to Starfield's star map.

I agree. It becomes especially annoying when you have to look for a certain location and you can't remember in which star system it is. Also the route plotting remains a mystery for me. Sometimes it says "Can't go there, mate", because a unvisited system is in between me and my destination, yet I can easily bypass this unvisited system by jumping manually into another visited system first and then directly to my destination.

Is it normal that Starborns do big game hunting? To me it feels a bit weird, but maybe Starfield's developers have thought it's ok. But I don't really like the Starborns because they are immediately hostile to me, and even one of them can kill me quickly.
