1. Spectacled Bear
2. Gelada
3. Sichuan Takin
4. Markhor
5. Pallas's Cat
6. Matschie's Tree Kangaroo
7. Rock Hyrax
8. Chinese Giant Salamander (E)

Just listing habitat animals:
1. Wolverine - I disagree with any statements that they would not be appropriate for a highlands pack, thank you very much.
2. Spectacled Bear
3. Markhor
4. Pallas Cat
5. Gelada
6. Golden Takin
7. Himalayan Marmot

I’m kinda sad at how badly the bar-headed goose is doing for a Highlands Pack. This is the world’s highest-flying bird, best known for migrating over the world’s highest range of mountains, including the highest peak! Is it losing out because folks don’t think it’d be a good non-aviary habitat animal, or is it just that folks aren’t that interested in it period? I guess the Asian land birds are doing better.

My list (which includes montane forests):
1. Bar-headed goose
2. Spectacled bear
3. Markhor
4. Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo
5. Lion-tailed macaque
6. Golden pheasant
7. Rock hyrax
8. Japanese giant salamander (E)

Probably more that other geese are mor popular

Never actually heard of that goose before, theres so many other obvious birds for a highland pack that a lesser known goose wouldn't be on many peoples minds.

My ideal roster would be this:

  1. Spectacled Bear
  2. Guanaco
  3. Bighorn sheep
  4. Sichuan Takin
  5. Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby
  6. Pallas cat
  7. Hamadryas Baboon
  8. EX: Chinese Giant Salamander
1 animal for Oceania
2 for SA and 1 for NA
2 for Asia
And 1 for Africa/Asia

All the continents win and aslo I think the hamadryas Baboon would be the unique rig of all the pack, it would be better have a unique rig to the Mandril rig

Sigh... this is the third thread dedicated to a Highland Pack... is there something that seriously hints at this being the next pack, or are people just running with it? Because I for one don't see why it's really more likely than any of the other plausible options.

Oh where to begin,
  • Highlands doesn’t have a scenery theme and there’s a really strong chance of the next pack being an animal pack.
  • Wolverine is the number 1 animal on the wishlist so it’s probably coming next.
  • Along with the Wolverine, there are a few more animals that are up there and fit with Highlands. Spec. bear and Gelada would be the best ones.
  • A lot of the animals should be on the easier side to make since at least 5/7 of them are reskins.
  • It has a good chance of being very diverse for an animal pack, with residents from SA, Asia and Africa, while also including diverse types of animals.
  • Mountains fit with winter
  • We haven’t got a mountain/highland animal since the conservation pack (that was 15 months ago!)

Tibetan Theme or Ski Resort/Lodge Themes would work fine for a Highlands theme... also, probably our only hope for a true Gondola ride.

Number two actually, and Highlands is hardly the only pack it could work with...

The same it true for other potential themes, like a Woodlands theme; Wolverine (2), SA Coati (3), Takin (9), Short-Beaked Echidna (20) for example...

  • Mountains fit with winter
Does Grasslands fit winter? Does Oceania fit fall? You all need to let go of the idea that a pack needs to match the season, because it clearly doesn't...

I fail to see how this one matters; Frontier doesn't seem to be filling quotas...

Chiru are a very unique goat. (I was also surprised to learn they're caprines.) Even though they are uncommon in zoos, they are so pretty that I wouldn't mind them.
Not just uncommon, they have literally never been exhibited in zoos, including in their native region. They’re striking, sure, but I absolutely can’t get on board with them for that reason.

As long as those reskins aren't just copy and paste like the tapir, and most of the animals in the arid animal pack then I think it'll be alright and won't upset too many people

They would use the same animations and rigs,
Pallas Cat = Sand Cat Rig
Spec. Bear = Bear Rig
Hyrax = Prairie Dog
Takin = Wildebeest Rig
Markhor = Ibex Rig

Although hyrax might be a bit of a stretch cause it needs to climb more than the prairie dogs do.
