Hold on to your hats everyone. CIG are about to invent the LAN party...
They're now showing server meshing on a simple grey box level with 2 players and a buggy. The buggy moves from green server to blue server. Amazing.
SalteMike and Levelcap are talking about how "every game" is going to want this tech.
Chris depends on people not knowing that the tech he presents as new and revolutionary is actually quite old and exists in many games you've played. It's all very scammy. The earliest game I know of that had static server "meshing" was UO in 1997. Pic related, that game's server boundaries.SalteMike and Levelcap are talking about how "every game" is going to want this tech.

Cobra had dynamic meshing since ever? It's just called "instancing" here. However, I'm sure that other engines such as the Unreal Engine will have similar tech in the future.
Exactly, it's hilarious. And I did note that with only 2 players, 1 crossing the server boundaries was smooth some of the time. And not smooth at other times.Chris depends on people not knowing that the tech he presents as new and revolutionary is actually quite old and exists in many games you've played.
