It's because the parody is not one. It seems to be parody here because no one give a about making the game work while it's in fact just useful tips. They don't apply for you, it's fine, but they apply for a lot of guys on reddit asking for help. It's like calling a useful tip like "Enable Port Forwarding and set port to 5100" a parody...As I said just a page or two back, its hard to tell the difference between posts from the faithful and those that are parody.
You forgot the rest :Which IRQ is your Soundblaster 16 using?
The faithful do like to proselytize.Yes, and lots of comments about how impressive SQ42's video is. Haters also seem to have a hard time making themselves heard in the comments.
OuchMany many years ago i tried to run without a pagefile, and it was nice to see my comp performance improve in general, as windows could no longer thrash the hard drive and leave unused memory unused on a whim. Then i tried MS Office and it crashed.
Pagefiles are a crutch that programmers lean on when they don't have to because they don't put proper memory management in their software.
Asmongold is dishonest. How can you slight SF for bugs and praise the broken crap that is SC? Only if you're low integrity.Yes, and lots of comments about how impressive SQ42's video is. Haters also seem to have a hard time making themselves heard in the comments. And Asmon's response to his chat's message "It's a scam" was spot on!
Pagefile is for RAM, swapfile stores Windows-specific app data afaik.Slightly OT but seeing as it's being discussed ... what's the difference between swapfile.sys and pagefile.sys?
I recently got a significantly faster M.2 SSD than my primary C: drive. I didn't want to go the whole hog of moving Windows across to it but I did use the Windows Performance Options/Advanced/Virtual memory settings to move the paging file (seemed like a good idea). I still have swapfile.sys on my original C: drive tho and was wondering if and how I should try to move that as well.
Because SC is an alpha, you ignoramus. And contrary to an outrageous 60 EUR package that grants you access to the entirety of working SF, in SC it is enough to pay several hundred bucks to experience the dream of a non-existing spaceship that definitely looks good on the store page and in the marketing videos.Asmongold is dishonest. How can you slight SF for bugs and praise the broken crap that is SC? Only if you're low integrity.
Lol? No idea why this was mentioned here but peer to peer connectivity, whether in games or in file share networks is absolutely a thing today. For as long as our internet connections are router based and there is no widespread IPV6 there will be a need for port forwarding in peer to peer activity. You forgot the rest :
- Make sure your computer has a static IP address assigned, Guide Here: https://portforward.com/networking/static-ip-windows-10.htm
- Find your Router Model on this Website: https://portforward.com/router.htm
- Follow the steps for opening port 5100
The haters too, but they have less and less followers... less and less people in the echo chamberThe faithful do like to proselytize.
I personally don´t know. So, when do you think it will get actually released? Is sometime in 2025 a reasonably fair estimate? Perhaps 2026 to be on the safe side?
But still nothing is a release version. I've seen pretty videos before, I'm only interested in release versions. The haters too, but they have less and less followers... less and less people in the echo chamber

The pagefile.sys thingy in SC in the other hand seems actually out of place.
I don't hate SC, I love it!The haters too, but they have less and less followers... less and less people in the echo chamber
NoYou plan to respond to this?
Why ? When a software use 20Go of ram and you have only 16Go of RAM, knowing how the pagefile work is the first step to understand why your software crash....The pagefile.sys thingy in SC in the other hand seems actually out of place.
SC is released. You get what you get. A broken concept where the minority of features is absent, not functional, bugged, not guaranteed, subject to possible removal. But still nothing is a release version. I've seen pretty videos before, I'm only interested in release versions.
Are they going to hire someone from Dice to do their FPS module? CCP for their economy? Not sure they hired an astrophysicist: didn't they hire Yogi to do their flight model - who came from fdev?
