Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Have you got something with 500MJ shields that can boost to 460m/s+?
Not at this moment. I have some ships that can get up to 500+m/s, but they don't have the shields.
The Shooting Star even does that in powercruise...
Not sure if I have a ship that has such powerful shields, right now.
I'm still trying to get to grips regarding what I think I have in terms of equipment and engineering on my ships and what is actually there.
The switch to Odyssey and the resulting "reset" of my equipment has messed me up quite good.
(This isn't a complaint towards the "reset", but towards the apparently waning flexibility of my brain.)

After transferring all my current ships over to Coriolis, I started juggling with different setups and found out that it would be not too difficult to transform my Meteor into a ship that would fulfill the requirements @CMDRQuainMarln mentioned...
If I would operate from a carrier parked close to the spire site system, I could even change the fuel scoop to another hull reinforcement package.
Some suggested changes with no engineering:

Enhanced performance thrusters can be bough from prof Palin or Felicity Farseer. Cut the weight with D rated life support and sensors as weight kills speed with these thrusters. How much dirty drag drive tuning can you do with Felicity? Go down to a 2A shield that most run on an iCourier as it does not reduce shield strength by much and use the size 3 slot for hull reinforcement. Go 2A fuel scoop. More hull reinforcement. Now you can boost to 480m/s and outrun any Thargoid except Glaives and the Basilisk. If your shield drops you should have enough hull to escape.
I will go back to the Spires area late this week early next with Quain's carrier.

I missed your other engineered build. With the extra mass it's carrying, standard engineered thrusters are best. That ship will easily survive a visit to the Spires so long as your careful to run at the right time.

Hmm...

So... I have 23 guns and 7 suits which seem to cover all sorts of needs.

The thing is, I also have 946 assets, 529 goods and 805 chunks of data. Part of me wants to sell the lot for profit while another part insists on keeping it all for a rainy day. What a dilemma :D

Cap-M is currently in HIP 5952 - it's about 150LY away from where we were before (was going to check out another Spire site Sunday night but then noticed our old UT server was nicely busy^) ...i can jump back there if it helps?

What I do is trading all assets for graphene, microelectrodes, and weapon components (the most expensive ones). When I need to engineer something I trade down to what I need. Yes I do lose mats doing this, but it allows me to stock more than enough to engineer a couple of things all at once. I have already flogged graphene and microelectrodes on the carrier as stock got too high.

For data I try to keep around 20 of the useful ones, and if stock goes too high then sell them on the carrier.

For goods I just pick up the useful ones and so far I haven't run out of space.

Edit: Among the data I keep as many manufacturing instructions as I can, as I'm always running out of those.

Oops forgot to bookmark that system, but jump plotted for Kappa Andromedae - it’s fairly close to that Spire system, has a few stations and has no Thargoid alert as yet… there in about 15mins :]
I'm not sure if I find any time today - quite busy.
If I should find some time, that most likely would be somewhen after 22.00 my time.
That would be around 20:00 game time, if I remember correctly.

Sell half, keep the rest and hope it’s only a shower.

Aha! It's not just me then :D
Well there is one of you and five of him.

I’d say that counts as just you.
