Elite Dangerous | Halloween Event 2023

After scanning the beacons, you will receive a Noctule Red paintjob for Anaconda, Python, ASP X, and Cobra MKIII.
There is no message to announce the gift.
I hope this is not over.

Once we get the paint, fairly certain it is, which would be a bit disappointing... That being said, last year there were two set of paintjobs, so maybe...

Also, why always these same 4 ships? Why not giving us a paintjob for different ships each year?

My guess is because those are the most popular OG ships. Inara seems to agree.

Maybe because they are easier for the devs to create a new skin

Weeell, if it's been paid out I expect it's over. Unless they're dropping more than one set of skins this year.
I cannot and will not believe that this was all. I do not think FDev would drop the ball on such a story like that. I rather think we have not figured out the leads yet.

The 'week long special event' is you guys looking for hidden messages :sneaky:
Nah, I’m waiting for a hint from Frontier on this one. Hopefully, today.

Maybe not the most active approach, but I’m not too convinced that the current set of messages holds any more hints or clues to follow up on.

The Thetis referred to passing an uninhabited planet in the dodgy system 15ly away (which is the currently infected system), and the orbital infected is close to the 3 uninhabited planets. Maybe they become landable with something to explore? Have found it very atmospheric, revisiting the Thetis, the spooky sounds and storyline from the orbital, and the players RPing infected psychos

Let me be excited. If Frontier lets it stagnate by only making this a one day log bonus that is left for a week with no further developments, you can say ‘I told you so’ later.
This is exactly what I went into this event thinking. Learned from the one off Seo chase. Attitude helps a lot. Don't go in thinking there is some super hidden secret and just let it go. Which I did.
Obviously my prediction is these 10 messages is it.

Don't get me wrong--I'd love for this to keep going, and I hope it does.

I guess I just tend to be a pessimist, and I look at it this way so keep my own expectations in check.

As far as i understand things, all 10 of the "shamesh" logs have been found but there seemed to be another group of 5 with only no. 5 of 5 being found.
Is that right or was that just early confusion or have i missed something?

People just mistake thinking the Thetis is newly related to this event when it’s been there for years. At least, I’ve seen some of that.

And re expectations - I’ll probably just quickly shrug it off after getting annoyed if this isn’t continued. I would’ve gotten annoyed even if I kept my expectations deliberately low.

(And as I said - my current expectation is that we rely on Frontier giving us a message to work off of from here.)

I am currently trying to remember how things unfolded last year...
I feel like it had taken a few days to get all messages, but this feeling is with an uncomfortably high level of uncertainty...

Last year was just a single system - Guarijio - with the logs scattered around the moons of various B star gas giants. Both messages in orbit, detailing what went on at the particular moon, and on the surface with a small outpost-esque surface structure.
