Please, can you tell us more about coming alliance/co-op features or it is something coming "soon" (looks towards Premiere announcement)? :)

Ohh, yeah, and NPC dialogs too.

My biggest question, sorry if it's been asked already: What prompted the decision to release the game now? Many feel/felt it's too early and panicked thinking this is the "end". Can we have some idea of the continued developement of ED in the future? Like, are there plans to continue aggressive development past the Dec. release?

We planned the release date long ago, and have been working towards it. Development will continue past the December release. Currently the plan is to continue indefinitely - a game like this is never 'finished' - there is always something we can add or improve, but this date is a reasonable measure of what we think will be a great game.

I'm interested in the online tech that drives ED as a game - (is this the first MMO-type game Frontier have tried?)

When you first had the vision for ED, it was to be a living breathing universe, facilitated by, I guess, cloud technology?

What, if anything, has surprised you about using online-based gaming technology? As you've gone along the development process, has it met the requirements to deliver your original vision, or maybe even exceeded it?!

I haven't seen No Man's Sky 'in the flesh', but know one of the people involved. I have also (of course) kept an eye on Star Citizen and know Chris Roberts reasonably well.

I love science fiction, and I think it is a good thing it is coming back to gaming. If anything it is pretty shocking that it left, so I wish them luck. For players of course, it is a good thing too as competition keeps us all on our toes!

Myself and most of my friends have been crying out for a game like Elite Dangerous for a very long time. And it's a brilliant game.

BTW had the pleasure of meeting you at GameCity a few years ago when they held a few events to mark the 25th anniversary of Elite. Such a shame I'm unable to attend the upcoming Elite Dangerous premier event.

Hi David,

Will we see player to player trading in the first release? know we can drop and scoop pods, I am hoping for a secure trading system.

Hi David,

With regards to future expansions beyond Planetary Landing and first person mode, can you give us any hints as to what else we might be able to look forward to? For example, ships with multiple crew.

Hi David, thank you for this Elite Dangerous. I had been waiting very long years for this.

My question, do you play the game often and do you plan to play often once released?
How will I know if I meet you out there in space, Whats your Commander name?

A while back in a dev diary I think..The return of Trumbles was mentioned....
I assume this was a joke ? or could it return as a kind of Virus that causes your cockpit systems to go nuts

Hi David, and thanks so much for dropping by! My question is about the status of the Mac version of ED. Are you still feeling that three months after the PC release looks realistic for a Mac release? And as far as the Mac beta is concerned, do you have any idea yet as to how closely that might follow on the heels of the PC release?

See, I only have Macs, won't use Bootcamp, and as such it is driving me a bit batty not being able to experience this game yet. :)

Our plan is to look at this in detail after we have shipped PC, so I'm afraid I don't have any dates for you. Why are you against Bootcamp? I use it all the time on my laptop.

Hi David

For the forthcoming events (and eventual release), do you have any top secret surprises that are going to make us all giggle like schoolchildren? Sort of like a Steve Jobs 'one last thing I forgot, oh look its an iPad / Imperial Courier' type thing?

Hello David. Just a quick thank you for having the passion to keep your vision for Elite: Dangerous alive for all these years and the tenacity, determination and not least, enthusiasm, to see it through. Really looking forward to playing it for real!
Also - what's your favourite pizza topping? ;)
