Ground birds on the other hand…After reading everyone's comments, I discovered the fact that most people seemed to have given up on the idea that we would get flying birds in PZ1, just like me.

Same, except for the gray fox. Like, I wouldn't want a fox to come unless it was that oneBro stop not more fox talk I reached my limit yesterday lol
You tryna kill us?Doesn't include gray fox though.
Actually, I think the opposite, it adds to the fun. We get a curveball pack with nothing we speculated on, and it just makes us change some views on the next speculationI like surprises but it takes the fun out of all the time speculating.
When we are usually right in speculating the pack theme and the roster is not what we wanted, it turns out like this:I like surprises but it takes the fun out of all the time speculating.
Yeah cause when we talked the pack to death everybody has a perfect version they believe is reasonable in their head + atleast some general assumption what should be there. When we are usually right in speculating the pack theme and the roster is not what we wanted, it turns out like this:

When we are completely wrong and we get a totally unexpected theme that mostly everyone loves, it turns out like this:

I mean I’m pretty lenient with this roster. Mainly because the other options for this roster are still quite good. Rock Wallaby, Marmot, any of the other caprines (except bighorn or Rocky Mountain goat), theres very few I would be absololutley outraged if we got.For example the set up of spectacle bear, takin, goat, baboon, "rodent" (hyraxes arnt rodents but id group them with them regarding this pack niche) + 3 more is the go to for mountain pack which we mostly all agree on would be the way to go.
"Oh you want a lar gibbon?!! Here's a proboscis monkey!""Oh, you want monkeys?!! Here's the one nobody's asking for!"
But baboons are also unique in nature with the bright colours and baboons are a more common name for the public than the golden snub nosed monkey.Yeah i can see it happen. Recognisable monkeys or unique in nature will sell well with the casual audience.
I mean, it could happen. But it would be an egregious misstep if it happened (and, TBH, I'm not sure they'd give us the gold-nosed in a highland spack instead of new world monkeys sometime down the line). I just think we're in a completely different era from the two examples that you cited."Oh you want a lar gibbon?!! Here's a proboscis monkey!"
"Oh you want a howler monkey?!! Here's a capuchin monkey!"
Yeah i can see it happen. Recognisable monkeys or unique in nature will sell well with the casual audience.
Thats THE fun part. Golden monkey isnt monkey nobody is asking for lol. Position 48 on wholesome meta-wishlist.Oh, and I really don't see us getting the snub-nosed monkey. I think the chatter in these threads has been SA-centered enough that it would be a pretty goof up for them to say "Oh, you want monkeys?!! Here's the one nobody's asking for!"
yeah I think you’re alone on that one palmy point of view is that I really want it,
We must be running in completaly different circles, then, because I haven't heard any mention of it. Haha. I've mostly just seen folks wanting South American monkeys. Good point about the wishlist, though. It's on there but... It still pales in comparison to the howler monkey, etc.Thats THE fun part. Golden monkey isnt monkey nobody is asking for lol. Position 48 on wholesome meta-wishlist.
I swear i saw even more snub-nosed monkeys outside forum easily beating demand for NW primates, which are mostly forum thing.
No he is not lolyeah I think you’re alone on that one pal
This is what I have been saying, for a species to become popular, it is crucial to see it in a zoo. I don't know if the brothers in this community are all animal lovers, or zoo lovers. Because in terms of the responsibilities of modern zoos, golden monkeys have high value. On the other hand, I think the voting and the comments on this post perfectly explain what is called the "silent majority". Not to mention global players, it is probably the majority of players who browse this community and those who often speak in the community. Players have inconsistent views on certain animals, such as golden monkeys.Thats THE fun part. Golden monkey isnt monkey nobody is asking for lol. Position 48 on wholesome meta-wishlist.

Well yeah but the community is pretty divided on that. We have the loudest voices wanting new world monkeys stating that nowhere else needs more primate representation. We have those split between South America and baboons for Africa, others like me desire more representation in Asia and Africa because the larger primates in popular regions are covered but not the more realistic options for realistic zoos ( not necessarily the golden snub nosed). I want colobus monkeys, lion tailed macaques, langurs, and baboons more than new world monkeys. We're all talking about very specific monkeys in a very direct way now
Fair points! Even myself... I low-key really want langurs and colobus monkeys. But my desire for the new world ones generally trump those, hah. I still want them, though. So yeah, it's unfair to say "nobody" wants monkeys outside of SA representation (which wasn't my intent; I had poor word choice there - and apologies to folks for that).Well yeah but the community is pretty divided on that.
