Then again, I also believe that if people really want these things badly they should be talking about them as much as possible (#TreeKangaroos) and I'm not referring to you haha (you talk about it enough that I'm not surprised by this take :)).
#MonkeyFromIndia #MonkeyFromIndia #MonkeyFromIndia 😆

Seriously, my #1 want is a monkey for India. Even the India pieces are begging for one. I mean at least temperate East Asia (not the most monkey-rich region to begin with) has one species in the game already. South Asia has zero! And SE Asia having three doesn’t even help with that since none of them are a close match with the iconic S Asian species.

I’m partial to the lion-tailed macaque and it technically works in a mountain pack on the same lines as a guereza or tree kangaroo as a denizen of montane forests. In fact the lion-tailed macaque is the best known endemic of the Western Ghats, one of the most biodiverse and highest ranges of the Indomalayan realm (tropical Asia). It’s also endangered and unique-looking, and is in zoos around the world! I understand it has much less of a shot than the snub-nosed monkey (which isn’t even a species I mind, never too many monkeys for me TBH) but I just felt the need to represent lol.

Rest assured that this current talk comes probably 6 months to late to even have a chance at influencing the december pack :D
Hah! I know. I'm just being silly.

Tree kangaroo will come but I don’t think that in highlands pack.
TBH, I think it depends on how many packs remain. If we get another year of support beyond December? Then yeah, I think it finds its way in. But given the other in-demand animals I don't know that I see it coming if support is ending sooner than that to be totally honest...

Since golden monkeys are so controversial, well... Guys, do I have to talk about the African antelope and the Asian deer. One thing that has always bothered me is that as the continent with the most antelopes, Africa has a lot of unique features that are unique to Africa antelope. But as the continent with the largest number of deer species, Asia does not have a deer that is unique to Asia. Why is this? I've been so confused!

We’ve had many deer wars before.
I really hope that at least Père David’s deer would come eventually 🙏🏽

I wish we had more asian deer, but ngl i mostly want stuff that doesnt look like what we allready have.
My personal preferances would be that we get the hog deer and reevees muntjac for their small size, commoness in zoos in case of the muntjac and rising zoo population for the hog deer, peres david deer cause extinct in the wild and strong conservation story while looking distinct, a musk deer for the roe deer size coverage with an more interesting animal and the sambar for its large range and many color variations. Ofcourse this is more of a dream thing but i really wouldnt complain about any of them and do hope that we get atleast one more, preferably one of the 3 smaller ones
