My profile picture is a sketch of swab and deboniar Zebra that a super cool guy called @FlameWizard492 drew for me hours ago becuase I could not find a pic of zebra in a suit.

And he doesnt know me from Adams house cat! What a good samaritan, a real swell guy.

And yes I am buttering you up for a fedora for that Zebra. 🤣🤣

I meant the whole series, all the films.

Why? Because I'm not going in expecting draw dropping experiences. Jurassic is more consistent than Star Wars. I'm expecting dinosaurs. Thrilling moments, calm and peaceful scenes, and just regular people living in world of prehistoric animals we will likely never imagine.

For favorites, I'd go:
  1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park - also my favorite all time movie
  2. Jurassic Park
  3. Jurassic World
  4. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
  5. Jurassic World Dominion: Extended Edition - I don't watch the theatrical cut anymore
  6. Jurassic Park 3

World trilogy wasn't as bad as people say. Think about it:
  • Jurassic World: the world is bored with dinosaurs. Makes sense, people as a whole have short attention spans. So, a hybrid would turn the tables, bringing something never been done before
  • Fallen Kingdom asked the question: what would happen if de-extinct dinosaurs faced extinction again. There were 2 sides: those who truly wanted to preserve them, and those who wanted to take advantage of them by selling them to people without a care in the world. And the I-Raptor was meant to be I-Rex 2.0: easier to control, in theory. However, people messed up, it got out, they killed it
  • Dominion asked the question: can man and dinosaur coexist? And it sorta did answer it. People had to adapt, learning to show the dinos respect while doing their day to day jobs. The Malta scene showed how people can abuse dinosaurs, like they do in real-life. The Biosyn part was kinda interesting, to see how other genetics companies could take advantage. The problem with the film is that most people based it off of the theatrical cut, which was choppy and didn't run smooth. The extended edition re-added a bunch of small scenes that overall helped the film. But I actually didn't like Wu's redemption and wished he had a dinosaur demise
Anyways, as a whole I've always enjoyed the films better than Star Wars. It's more relatable, it's more enjoyable. I think most people just expected too much from a franchise who's film style is people creating extinct animals to control them, only for it to all backfire
My main problem with the world films is that they introduce the concept of hybrid dinosaurs (which ironicly every dinosaur in the franchise already was, remember the whole filling up the missing dna, frog dna of all things even) but use like the most boring design ever.
Like you have the ability to mix and mash every dinosaur, and assumeably every other animal together and the best you come up with is an inbred albino allosaurus? And the second one is just the same thing but smaller and black. Huge L here imo
Like would anyone of the casual audience even recognise the indominus and indoraptor as hybrids if not explicitly told so?

honestly same I just came here to add to and look at the meta wishlist besides this game I dont really interact with online forums
Same, I never expected to enjoy being on this forum so much. I don't interact with any other online forums or discord (except for ones I share with real life friends that we set up in the pandemic and still occasionally use for gaming).

I was worried that I'd be a bit old for the group (I'm in my 30s, an elder millennial if you will) but I saw a couple of other people say the same thing and I like that we're a mixed group with a common interest. I'm so impressed with how much intelligence and kindness is to be found here. Super rare for online communities. Animal people are the best people!

What I have noticed is that alot of users here are in their mid 20´s and up, while the PZ Discord server and Reddit is where the younger audience is mostly located. Forums in general are kind of a thing of the past, so that is probably why us, the “older” folks are found here, because forums were popular in our time, haha.

I was literally having the same conversation with my husband last night! We were remembering the chat rooms of the 90s and how they were of a unique and fleeting part of history. Forums will go the same way, may this one last as long as possible! I think it allows for deeper discussion as it lends itself more to long-form (relative to online discourse) and written as opposed to verbal. V different from a bunch of people bouncing off each other on discord in chats and voice chats - harder for ideas to be shared, dissected and reflected on in those modes.

I view the Reddit but rarely engage as it seems less informed and less connected as a community. I like that here we start to get to know each other a little bit and build up a sense of trust and friendliness. I only remember 1 or 2 reddit people out of the thousands.

I did use a Fennec fox picture for a long time, but I like to change it from time to time, sometimes it is just an animal I would like to see in game, sometimes just a random picture of animal from the game and now my new puppy, because I am obsessed with her. Really random. 😂
Congrats on your gorgeous new puppy 💗 is she a shiba?

yeah the community here is the reason I have stayed because everyone here actually has some idea of what they are talking about and the discussions have been really good.
I think this forum as a whole is on the older side which in my opinion makes it better people here are more thoughtful and understanding here than say the reddit threads.
