What's Behind your Username?

Villanelle is my Steam name from a long while ago. From before that show 'Killing Eve' with the character Villanelle, actually. I thought of it first, she stole it 😂

My real name is Elle.
Villanelle is a kind of poem with intricate and specific repetitions. I think they're really prettty.
Also, I love Leonard Cohen and one of my favourite song/poems of his is called 'Villanelle for our Time'. I quote it on my steam profile.
Maybe when I play I'll be a bad gal, so 'villian' + 'elle' (IRL I literally won't hurt a fly...or more significantly for me, a spider)
And... I just think it sounds cute.

In the 2000er years I used to play some rpg mmos. And as a woman I had some bad experiences of being stalked/mobbed if using a female nickname (someone even tried to find out where I lived) - so I chose one of which I thought I would not have to add an 1527 to (because of it being used by half of the players like "blackdragon" or something like that) and a "cool male kid" might have, so I won't have to bother about being stalked or mobbed.

In fact it is a name taken from one of the "name finders", which where very common those days (tab. "dark language") :D
.

Don't we all like to play the villain?
I love to play the bad guy. Take Knights of the Old Republic; I play as a Sith, but since in real-life I can't stand to hurt somebody, I play as a nice Sith🤣
I won't hurt children or families, but I won't hesitate to destroy an entire battalion of soldiers or bullies.

But anyways. I just remembered that I have a few other usernames. I've mentioned before, but my first name is Lucas. Or Luke, whatever people prefer.
Because if that, I sometimes go by Luke the Duke, but since that's been done, I occasionally go as Luke the Puke, and a few times Dookie Lukey (yes, I have childish humor. Blame Captain Underpants)

Your name is Luke, and you like Star Wars. Hehehe

I hate to say this, but my inner nerd is forcing me to.

That’s not irony. Irony is when the end result of a situation is different from what you’d expect. For example, when a butcher tells you that he’s a vegan or when a pet shop owner is allergic to dogs and cats, that’s ironic.

What you described is coincidence.
Yes, you're right. Actually, the irony is that I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars anymore. I definitely prefer Star Trek and Stargate, but Jurassic World is by far my favorite franchise

Why though.

Like JP i get, but JW is just...ugh.

Although i'm biased because JP is my favorite movie of all time and i hate what they with the franchise with JW.
I meant the whole series, all the films.

Why? Because I'm not going in expecting draw dropping experiences. Jurassic is more consistent than Star Wars. I'm expecting dinosaurs. Thrilling moments, calm and peaceful scenes, and just regular people living in world of prehistoric animals we will likely never imagine.

For favorites, I'd go:
  1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park - also my favorite all time movie
  2. Jurassic Park
  3. Jurassic World
  4. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
  5. Jurassic World Dominion: Extended Edition - I don't watch the theatrical cut anymore
  6. Jurassic Park 3

World trilogy wasn't as bad as people say. Think about it:
  • Jurassic World: the world is bored with dinosaurs. Makes sense, people as a whole have short attention spans. So, a hybrid would turn the tables, bringing something never been done before
  • Fallen Kingdom asked the question: what would happen if de-extinct dinosaurs faced extinction again. There were 2 sides: those who truly wanted to preserve them, and those who wanted to take advantage of them by selling them to people without a care in the world. And the I-Raptor was meant to be I-Rex 2.0: easier to control, in theory. However, people messed up, it got out, they killed it
  • Dominion asked the question: can man and dinosaur coexist? And it sorta did answer it. People had to adapt, learning to show the dinos respect while doing their day to day jobs. The Malta scene showed how people can abuse dinosaurs, like they do in real-life. The Biosyn part was kinda interesting, to see how other genetics companies could take advantage. The problem with the film is that most people based it off of the theatrical cut, which was choppy and didn't run smooth. The extended edition re-added a bunch of small scenes that overall helped the film. But I actually didn't like Wu's redemption and wished he had a dinosaur demise
Anyways, as a whole I've always enjoyed the films better than Star Wars. It's more relatable, it's more enjoyable. I think most people just expected too much from a franchise who's film style is people creating extinct animals to control them, only for it to all backfire

My name here, Tatanosaure, is coming from my game username Super Tatane mixed with dinosaur (I don't know why, probably my interest for paleo things).

Super Tatane orginates from the french language version of Friends. For those who watched the series. In an episode Joey wants to change his name career wise. In French (don't know for the original version), Pheobe suggests him "Super Tatane" (tatane is a slang word for shoe). And boom here I am because I found this name quite funny. (It is a better username than the suggestion of Chandler (Rip), a soviet dictator).

The forum name? It's an old Latin saying by I don't know who.
Stanislaw Lem used it for his character Ijon Tichy in the short stories as some kind of character motive to head to far places and experience more light-headed adventures than what he worked at in the novels.
Navigare necesse est was originally a more business or expansionist motto, but with Ijon Tichy it was the motto of a curious explorer.
