Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

While I wouldn’t mind a petting zoo pack and do like petting zoo animals as I’ve yet to see a zoo or wildlife park without at least a few I highly doubt the next dlc is petting zoo. I do however think they should be in game though eventually. As far as how they rank for me? Personally they get squashed by every other plausible pack. Temperate, highlands, tundra, Latin America, marine, birds, etc. I would take a tiger pack with every remaining subspecies tbh. But a cow, sheep, turkey, and donkey I’d love to see them in game as well. It’s just hard to pick domestics over wild with so many still missing.

Thank you for your science popularization,But why they add some wild species to attract customers when farms are so popular
Because places like that need novelties to attract people every year, and at some point you've gone through every novelties you can in the farm/domestic realm, so they end up with easily available, easy to keep wild animals.

But anyway, my point with this was that there are quite a few hybrid farm/zoos places, and that would be an interesting project to recreate in PZ.

I still see a domestic pack as the best way to get things like ducks and rabbits in the game. So as far as I’m aware it’s worth it. Honestly I would make the domestic pack as an education/ children’s zoo pack. So everyone can get a bit of what they want. My personal choices would be this:

  1. The staple of petting zoos everywhere, the dwarf goat
  2. As the first rabbit in the game, I would go with the biggest being the flemish giant
  3. for a domestic pig I would pick the Vietnamese pot belly pig
  4. For a domestic bird I would pick a chicken, probably the silkie chicken
  5. For our first “wild” bird I would pick either the mallard or mandarin duck
  6. For the South American representation and children love them, the squirrel monkey
  7. Another South American species, and a very cute rodent, the Patagonian mara
  8. The Walkthrough exhibit exists as a thing, so I’m gonna go with the budgie as the first walkthrough bird. It just makes too much sense. But considering frontier doesn’t like “flying birds” (even if they will be looped) then a tortoise species like the radiated tortoise
With the llama and water buffalo already existing in game you can make a pretty good farm/ domestic area. I think this would be the best way for everyone to get a little of what they want.

True, but for anyone who isn’t a child, children’s zoos aren’t the highlight on a zoo trip. Families with kids probably love children zoos, but ones without and go alone most likely will skip petting zoos.
Last time I went to the local zoo with my friend (we're both well beyond "young" and have no children) we had a blast in the petting zoo. We fed the animals from one of those pellet machines and one of the goats literally slobbered all over my glove, leaving it soaking wet, and I remember peeling it off ever so carefully with the other hand, making faces, while my friend laughed at me. I mean, they weren't the most exciting animals we saw that day, but it still formed an overall part of our day out.

I think a pack like this could be fun with the right mechanics. Animals slobbering on guests, trying to pinch balloons, etc just as examples could be really funny and would help to add some life and amusement to our zoos. A pack doesn't always have to have mega impressive rare species to add something to the gameplay.

List of acceptable farm dlc (or domesticated animal dlc)
1:turkey(Classic North American Stars)
2:domestic yak(Many people's preferences include me)
3.African dwarf goat(typical examples)
4.Flemish Giants(Lack of Rabbit Shapes in the Game)
Exhibition animals: bees(why not?)
Architectural theme, a classic American farm theme

This is the list that I can accept.(Of course, once Asia and South America are all replenished)

Some people are gonna skip some dlcs, thats just how it works.
If youre not into ungulates youre probably gonna skip the arid pack, or pay 10€ just for the porcupine.
If youre not into european animals you gonna skip the europe pack.
No idea why this would suddenly become a problem with a petting zoo pack
But the risk is Higher for such a Specialized and Community dividing Pack. Just my opinion.

My friend, I think you may just enjoy interacting with some animals,Feeding giraffes is equally fun.In my place, you can even have a brief interaction with panda cubs
Perhaps all you need is a mechanism to interact with animals In PZ
