Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

To add onto this.

Frontier switched up their reveal-release schedule last time. Usually there's about 14 days between reveal and release, giving us an entire week between reveal week and release week. Last time however, it was 7 days. No idea if this is a permanent change or a one of, but still, it's a change nonetheless.

If Frontier is still doing their annual two week break at the end of the year, that might mean that we get an announcement next week and a release right afterwards; because if they don't they barely have time between release and their break to fix urgent bugs.
Dang I forgot about the Arid pack having a 14 day gap, this is tricky now…

We know that there has to be at least a 9 day gap (8 screenshots + developer journal) assuming this next pack is an animal pack.

I also forgot about their two week break, so I think the pack has to be released on the 12th, with a launch about two weeks in advance, that being the 28th of November. On the other hand, grasslands was revealed on a Friday with a 10 day gap I believe.

So overall, we probably have a 90% chance of an announcement this week, either on Tuesday or Friday, it also depends if there will be a livestream. If there is, it’s gonna be Friday.

IIRC they did it with a 1 week notice back when it was continental dlc. 5 days of animal reveals, one dev diary day. With twilight and conservation they wanted to showcase Scenary and equal the time of a full animal dlc reveal schedule

I don't really want another crocodilian but I will add a couple more freaky testudines:

Ok hear me out on this: What are y'alls thoughts on an African species of otter.

I know they aren't super common in zoos but I think it would be really fun for Congo or Gorilla centered exhibits. I think spotted necked otters are really cute and would be fun to create a mixed species habitat with the potential addition of an African monkey. And I know most want an otter from cold climate for variety's sake, but animals from the tropical otters are better imo 😂

I didn't even know there were African otters! I'd personally prefer the European river otter or the American sea otter, but I do concede that the spotted necked is cute! And an African one would be great to house with Red River Hogs

I mean, it’s not even near the top of my otters list never mind the top of my animals want list. My order for otters goes:

• Eurasian River Otter
• Sea Otter
• North American River Otter
• any other otter

We already have two tropical otters, we need a proper cold climate one!

Would be nice to have i guess, but i cant say im really hoping for one. Both the categories of otters and small african carnivores has way better options imo

I think it would make a nice addition to Africa, I often find the need for an african otter that no suitable alternative exists. Basically a giant otter that doesn't look like a demon

That being said though, a cold climate otter is more of a priority, the sea otter remains in my top 3 wanted animals.

Sea otter is my priority for a new otter.
American river otter or European otter comes next.
But spotted necked otter or congo clawless otter would be nice to mix with some other species like you said.

But other than the sea otter, the rest of the otter don't look distinct enough from what we have nor they add anything new, unlike the sea otter. So in terms of priority they are really low for me.

I would like a European otter because they are one of my favourite animals (raccoon, otter, fox) and I see them in the river near me, but do I think we need it? No, not at all.

If we get one more otter it should be the sea otter, as it brings something totally fresh and different, and is iconic of the West American coastline. The European is so so wonderful but I wouldn't say the iconic species of anywhere (correct me if I'm wrong)

Edit: plus we need otters stealing surfboards
