Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Paring down the Eurasian theme, to a scenery pack. Perhaps something from both Eastern Europe and West Asia for building pieces?
Muskox (headliner)
Wolverine
Eurasian Otter
Wild Boar
Exhibit: Flying Squirrel

Tangential Base Game Update - Obviously, updating the HBB to the EBB.
Musk ox are native to North America, their Eurasian range is from introductions. Swap it with the Markhor. Also still not sure why people are still pushing the flying squirrel walkthrough exhibit--you would never see them either ingame or in real life.

‘re introductions’. The muskox was native to Europe for years and years before it was wiped out. Now, they are being reintroduced to their formal range. So they are a Europe native animal, they just became regionally extinct before their reintroduction, just like the European Bison.
Still not the kind of animal that should headline a Eurasia pack if it's marginal to the region compared to its main range in Canada and Alaska.

if it is really a Tundra Pack it would be okay for me. not a pack I would really Hype for. But if there is a caprine in it I would be more or less happy. I have hope, that it is a Mountain pack. Plsss Frontier, I want caprines, Spectaclet Bear, Gelada and so on.

So Tundra animal pack... then i'm confident we'll get musk ox, wolverine and walrus. The rest i don't know. I want to say arctic hare, that would be nice. I want to say guanaco as well, maybe even Patagonian mara if i'm lucky and they stretch the definition of a tundra animal a bit lol

I wouldn’t mind a tundra pack, I just hope we could finally get a bird for Europe and North America. Maybe they will go for a more generic pack name, that way we can get a whole host of “cold animals” not native to just one habitat.

The Muskox was previously native to Europe and can thrive there, however, it did go extinct in Sweden 6,000 years ago. That’s pushing the limit of ‘native’

Personally speaking, this year was one of the better ones for me. I got so many animals off my wishlist and the quality of the animals is so good at this point that even the “clones” I am excited about. Update wise, the Orangutan brachiation and viewing domes proves that Frontier is still willing to add meaningful and awesome content. Tbh even if the updates did get smaller, I would still welcome more animals, I am certainly not in the “let the game die in peace” camp, even if we recieved only “clone” animals at this point (which we dont), it would be better than none for me.

My idea for a tundra/ Frozen pack:
  1. Wolverine
  2. Musk Ox
  3. Walrus
  4. Puffin
  5. Capercaillie
  6. Gentoo penguin
  7. Mute Swan/ King Eider/ GIVE ME WATERFOWL PLEASE
  8. Exhibit: I have no idea, maybe boring but a wood frog? They can freeze themselves solid which is cool
I know I always do way more birds than what is realistic but it is what it is. Also at this point there isn’t many mammals left I can build a pack around, every DLC the mammal gap gets bigger and more filled out.

Amen

There is a chance we are all wrong and it is a scenery pack. They broke the pattern once, it's possible they've done it again.
They didn’t break the pattern, they simply reversed it. We still got two animal and two scenery packs last year, and it seems pretty clear that Frontier likes that balance. Breaking the pattern now would really throw things out of balance.

Could you please elaborate? Was this about me incorrectly referring to the peccary as a suid when it’s actually more closely related to deer? If so, I’m not gonna live that down, am I? Lol
No. Weren't you the one who corrected me on using the word "ironically" when it wasn't ironic?
