I still think that, when the game does go live and is a success, FD will soon have the resources to create the offline game if it so chooses. Yes it will have to be different. Yes it will be a static game world, but it will please many, many people to know that it will be in development. For FD to dismiss it outright at any time in the future isn't the right way to go

They should be more concerned right now about what they're going to tell all the journalists who'll ask them repeated questions about it at the premiere event. If they stick to the usual replies that they've given so far, and then refuse to answer any more questions on it, then that won't go down well with them. They should prepare themselves far better than they have done up to now. They should expect the following questions being asked:
-
Will you give everyone who was expecting offline content a refund, regardless of whether they've played beta or not?
Wouldn't it be fairer to do that?
How many have you actualy refunded so far?
Will you ever reconsider creating the offline game that you'd promised for so long?
Wouldn't the offline game be beneficial to the online game in terms of more people buying it and promoting it?
Is it because you feel that the offline game is too "old fashioned" and therefore obselete?
You've hinted in the past that ED might be available for consoles. How will that be possible if there's no offline play?
In ED's eula, it states that offline play won't have 3rd party adverts in it. Was that one of the reasons for axing offline?

...and there's probably many other questions that they may ask. If they don't, then gaming journalism really has gone downhill!
