Winter DLC: your final tipps for the complete roster

Yeah they are and there are still a bunch id want. But after getting them so frequently and this pack is again already half of them im just getting sick of them.
I understand. Its like me and pigs! I want the wild boar and even the visayan warty pig would be great. Yet, I'm sick of pigs for the time being.

I think what I expect is nightmare...
Wild Boar only because we already had 2 pigs this year.
GSNM because it looks freaky and featured in an evil fiction series or something...
Blackbuck is only set apart by being Asian antelope which the new saiga covers.

Lol Saiga doesn't cover that. Is a very niche and weird animal. Barely useful. I still need a normal antelope. Also blackbuck is prettier 😁

I don't think it's an Asia/Eurasia pack, I think it will be an Adaptations Animal Pack for the reasons @AndyZoos pointed out, everything in that livestream screamed 'evolutionary characteristics and adaptations for survival'

Which makes the options open to pretty much anything for the other animals!

Wild guesses?

  • Rhia: Darwin 'discovered' (obvs after it was already well known to the locals) a species of Rhia in Patagonia. There was a Darwin book on the table in the livestream. The other creatures Darwin famously studied were invertebrates, small flying birds which are unlikely picks, and the capuchin monkey which we already have. I'm fairy confident that Rhia is a good shout for this pack.
  • Aye-Aye: With its weirdly adapted witchy finger
  • Yapok / Water Opossom: Bit more of a wild card, but it's an interesting animal. It spends most of its life in water, has webbed feet, a rudder-like tail, can close its ears and nostrils underwater and it's a South American marsupial. It reminds me a little of the platypus with its genre-bending body and behaviour.

Obviously it would be fantastic if the WE was finally a bird this time - owls, hummingbirds or eagles would be great for an Adaptations pack with their unique abilities and characteristics. If birds are just impossible for whatever reason, then Wood Frog (E) is a decent guess or Flying Squirrel (WE), although I fear that would send some people into a rage!

Why the heavy Focus on Asia then? Also literally any animal has adaptations that help them adapt and survive (except pandas xD).

Would be weird to get four animals from Asia and then randomnly 3 animals from anywhere else.

Although i guess the Wolverine technically counts for NA and Europe as well.

Of the animals mentioned the only one that is unique ir special is the saiga, and maybe the sloth bear in a way when compared to other bears.

For an adaptations or evolution focus pack i would expect animals like echidna, tamandua, aardwolf, aye aye, colugo, tree kangaroo, shoebill... You know the classic weirdos.

All true, who knows? But the wolverine is an Arctic Circle animal as you say, and they did have a world map on the wall. And they talked about Tim moving to different locations, they made a bit of a point about the fact that they weren't tied to any single location or biome. The three purely Asian species are from very different parts of Asia and I just think there were so many clues and hints about the theme of exploration / adaptation / evolution instead of anything pointing towards Asia/Eurasia (either of which are too broad for a pack IMO)

Could be - Rhia, Aye-Aye, Tree Roo and then they've covered every continent except Antarctica

For me, the wolverine is what skews it. It's simply not an iconic Asian animal, though it has a presence there. The focus on the adaptations throughout, the books on the table, the world map...

I'm leaning heavily on the hints on the stream rather than the animal pick so its arguably a toss-up but... The theme is usually hinted at with the way they set things up on the stream (though, admittedly, the set-up this time around may just have been things they had lying around the office).

One caveat here is that they might opt to focus on how diverse Asia is from a biome perspective. That also seemed to be a focus of the stream as well.

There's still plenty room for the other three animals to bring in some of those more iconic "weirdos," though!

Final Prediction - Asia Animal Pack:
1. Takin
2. Wolverine
3. Saiga
4. Sloth Bear
5. Père David’s deer
6. Lion tailed macaque
7. Chinese alligator
WTE: Red and white Giant flying squirell

Mishmi is super cool but they mentioned golden brown fur so I would go for Sichuan or Golden.
Great list btw. If we would additionally get macaque and deer I would literally die 🫠
