Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

What time do frontier usually reveal update announcement?
Well, I'm from Texas, so when I wake up it's usually between 5am-8am. I have no idea what time that is for you. Basically 8-10 hours from now
I am not a native English speaker. I use the translation function. Forgive me for not being "exact" in a language I don't speak.
Hey, no worries. Many of us aren't native English speakers. I'm a native speaker and I sometimes don't speak right😅🤣
Why is this forum always arguing?
Some people like chaos, I guess.
Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to argue, just mentioning some points that seem to be missed, but if it came off as arguing, then I apologize

No need to apologize. With that being the case, you could have said that earlier when you claimed to have never said it is all.

It is very strange that many members of the community of this forum complain to the point of tragedy about the animals that are going to be introduced in the game through the next DLC. After a year in which the DLCs contained only exotic animals for those living in the northern hemisphere, Frontier brings a package with animals specific to the Eurasian area. A DLC that was needed. Animals from South America are strongly requested, but South America is extremely well represented now in the game with most of the large species specific to the continent. A few small monkeys are missing, which, due to their size, would not even be too visible in the game, being more suitable for the exhibition mechanics. Europe and Asia do not yet have their own defining species: Saiga (NA had, since the launch of the game, Pronghorn), Takin, Gaur, Yak, Muskox, Markhor, European Bison, Wild Boar, Roe deer, Chamois, Mouflon and even the European Brown Bear, which is much smaller and thinner than the Grizzly. They are not so exotic for those who live in the northern hemisphere, but they define the fauna of the area where they live and many are animals with a unique appearance.
It is hard to understand the hatred and rejection of the presence of such species in the game!
I agree europe needs representation but to say south america is well represented when literally everyone else on the forums says the opposite is objectively wrong. The problem with euorpe is most of the animal it needs are almost identical to those found in north america just the european version so they are not that globally appealing.
I never understood why it was so controversial. The animals we learned about last night filled in a lot of important gaps. I've read through a lot of people's reasons for not liking it, and honestly, it doesn't hold up at all.
They fill alot of niches and are useful animals my whole thing is they are underwhelming because besides the saiga I dont look at that roster and go thats an interesting animal they are great filler animals. The pack needs some heavy hitters like a monkey or a pheasant for me to like it because they are great animals they are just boring being from the 2 most oversaturated mammalian orders ingame.
They are not only large, they are also extremely representative of Asia and Europe and are missing in the game, while most representative and well-known species from South America are already in the game.
Large animals mean nothing a zoo doesnt just have megafauna which by the way have an extreme bias towards cold environments. A majority of a zoos collection will come from the small animals which are easily transported and looked after things like monkeys which south america is completely missing.
The animals mentioned by you as missing from the game for South America were also mentioned by others. The list does not go on much except possibly with very little known, niche species. I would also like to see an extended list for South America, with iconic species, well known throughout the world, not only by zoology enthusiasts.
There are plenty of animals like the spider monkeys and howler monkeys as well as flamingos, macaws and the alpaca that are all iconic south american animals that many many people outside of south america know and love and are common in zoos not at all niche zoo nerd animals. What does europe have the wisent which most people cant tell apart from the bison and also the timber wolf is the european wolf they made sure to use a generic species for that reason.

Yes, because I cannot think in English as I do in the language I speak natively. What a native English speaker understands from a translation is no longer under my control. I just clarified that I wanted to state that South America has most of the iconic, well-known animals in the game.

In fact, I think players who care about South America don’t need to worry too much. I bet that next year’s spring DLC will be about South America, and there will be at least one monkey and a spectacled bear. And maybe South America will harvest a bird, like the scarlet ibis.

I think so. In fact, I worry if frontier will give us a bird in the coming pack

That is fair. I can only read the exact wording on my screen, not your intent.

If we rule out extremely well represented, your final statement is also not true here. There are nearly a dozen unique, popular zoo animals that have a presence all over the world that are still missing from South America, as evidenced by the numerous lists people have responded to you with.

You don’t argue, you debate 🙂 Debate is good.

Some people on here get really singularly focussed on destroying what someone else wants, which is sad. I think everyone’s wishlists are just as valid!

I think I expressed myself well, taking into account the whole context of what I said, I quote myself: "South America is extremely well represented now in the game with most of the large species specific to the continent". So I made it very clear that I am referring to the iconic, larger species, well known for South America. But because my statement was taken out of context, I had to explain myself.

I’m hoping our exhibit animal is a cobra. Overall the pack really surprises me. In typical frontier fashion( not a bad thing) it’s neither a tundra or highlands pack. I believe Rudy Renkammel had a pretty good point in saying you wouldn’t see any groundbreaking content or new animations because of the long holiday break and problems that came with the aquatic pack. I do still wonder however if are takin is a wisent and just what other animals we’ll get.

you mean groundbreaking content like giftshops also I guessed asia as a pack concept months ago

same here im curious as to why it was barely talked about in the stream.
The stream was generally a little simpler than usual, likely due to frontier internal stuff that was going on.
But i also wouldnt be surprised to see that there isnt anything really besides the gift shops in the update since its a pretty big thing. Maybe a new colorvariation or two or something quality of life

possibly but they didnt even say the words update 1.16 just talked about how giftshops were coming which seems weird especially when they mention the sloth bear carrying babies and that could easily be applied to some base game and pack animals which would be a significant change in a free update but never mentioned it in that context.
