Planet Zoo: Eurasia Animal Pack arriving 13 Dec ❄️

Question. Has anyone actually enjoyed building for ungulates more now that we get so many of them recently?

I think I’ll enjoy building for these more than the arid ones, but that’s cause I don’t like building for deserts.
MMHHHMMM... It is not more like, but if the construction is serious, the construction of ungulates exhibition area and backstage is also very interesting.

Here's a South American Animal for you!

Seriously, I disagree that all mammals should be from SA... I think we "need" a lagomorph*, more deer*, another Asian antelope, a warm weather sheep, Musk Ox, maybe Sea otter, a marten, a mongoose and a bigger antelope that looks like cows.
*Marsh Deer would be fine and so would Pudu and maybe a brocket deer AND I have no idea if there are any hares or pikas in SA...
You can defintely disagree, that's just my own opinion. There's certainly other animals I'd put higher on a list, but when it comes down to it, mammal wise, South America is now way out front for me.

I still enjoy building for them as ever really, some climates are more fun to build for others like taiga and desert. The use of varying terrain elevation and use of rocks in these habitats make building much more enjoyable than a flat sandy habitat for some arid ungulates. Ungulates are always going to be a major part of any realistic zoo, one just needs to find building styles that fit the theme well.

I'm okay if not getting any other mammals except those in South/Central America.

Mammals from outside of SA that would be nice...
  • Snowshoe Hare
  • Arabian Oryx
  • Barbary Sheep
  • Musk Ox
  • Sea Otter
  • Yellow-throated Marten
  • Pallas' Cat
  • European Wild Cat
  • Banded Mongoose
  • Asian Palm Civet
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Common Eland

For me, strangly Africa is still number 1 priority still, Secretary Bird, Gerenuk, Honey Badger, Shoebill, all big names coming from Africa.
Only animals I still really want from South America are the Spectacled Bear, a Howler Monkey and Rhea, and Mara/Ocelot/Giant Armadillo would be pretty sweet cherries on top.
I think we need howler AND another monkey (preferably tamarin!)
although speeder monke would be cool. SO maybe four monkeys from SA once its all said and done! :)
Just mod the rest in...

I think many agree that Africa is missing some animals to build a nice, varied roster.
However, in terms of pure variation, South America is a hobo. There is barely anything to make a different South American set-up each time, unlike Africa which can be a different theme every time you open the game.

I mean, Europe now has equal, if not more, animals than South America. That's a real bummer, because South America is one of the most, if not the most, biodiverse continents. And we have only a small handful

Actually, I'm thinking, but imagine a DLC called the Garden pack. It has 200+ pieces revolved around plants, like plants (who knew?)
Animals could be butterflies, hedgehogs, deer from another continent, some kinda musteloid

The animal roster might be a little weak, but the scenery could make up for it
I have had this idea for quite some time, although the headliner animal would‘ve been the Mute Swan for me, so since that‘s gone…

To me South America is more famous for fish, reptilians, insects and flying birds, mostly smaller animals, the most famous animals from the continent are already in the game.

I hope we still get a bird-only pack, with Secretary Bird, Shoebill, Golden Pheasant, Victoria Crowned Pigeon, any Pelican, Red Ibis and Greater Roadrunner in it.
Maybe they even go this far and give us 10 big-habitat birds, with Grey Crowned Crane, Marabou Stork and Rhea as well.

Still have some good choices for waterfowl, though. Mandarin ducks, Muscovy ducks, mallards, ruddy ducks, whistling ducks.

Actually, just bring us any duck and we'll be happy

Yeah, but my point was that there are still a lot of larger species to choose from. You got maras, vicuñas, guanacos, rheas, curassows, ibises, spoonbills, screamers, waterfowl, tamanduas, not to mention the amount of monkeys and the spectacled bear.
While we have the iconic animals, they feel useless when you don't have enough filler species, those little guys that don't get the spotlight
