Planet Zoo: Eurasia Animal Pack and Free Update 1.16 Out Now ❄️

Oh boy, if you are going to and change the Saiga's classification, be ready to change it again soon. I think the IUCN jumped the gun considering that the disease that took out a six figured sum in Kazahkstan alone was due warmer than usual temperatures causing a mostly harmless bacteria to cross into their blood and become pathogenic. In addition to legalization of hunting and even some planned culls in the country holding most of the world's Saiga. Like wolves keep going on and off the U.S fed endangered list.

That sudden loss of individuals is why it went to critically endangered. It recovered.

Frontier... it's been done by a lot of people, I don't think I need to tell you that you're doing a great job, do you?

This update is amazing! For the life of me I never thought there would be shops like this in the game that can be filled with one click! Here I am writing about these shelves etc.
I didn't believe it until today.... But what else have you prepared for us.... tapir, clouded leopard.... we've already learned to live with it, and you've so suddenly, unexpectedly changed it. This is so great and amazing, I'm at a loss for words 😊
This game is getting better and better with every update, but I feel even better when I see references to old animals, because they are important too. Camels, penguins, cheetah, wolf, reindeer and bear colours and now tigers.

This game still needs improvements (at least improving the old species, because they don't look bad, but comparing the tails at least, they need a slight refresh).
Adding toys to other (mostly old) species to further connect all these animals that together make one game. Adding diving to several species.
And common signs to ALL species in the game. I think these are not big changes, a lot of work and these are the things most people ask for

In the end you took the tapir away from us, then we have to find something else haha 🥰

Regarding the DLC, even though these aren't top species, the quality of them is amazing. I know I'm repeating myself but everything here is amazing, I can't say anything else 😊
Swan, sloth bear fur omg.... Once again you have shown that you care about the game as much as we do, thank you so much!

Has anyone compared the new malayan tapir with the old model?
I was looking at two tapirs side by side: Baird's vs Malayan

I have a question for the community, do Baird's also use proboscis nose (I think I wrote it right) in real life like Malayan tapirs do now in the game? I'm just asking out of curiosity 😅
Baird's also use the proboscis nose in the game, however it is not like the Malayan.

So I've only been playing with one of the new species, but I'm noticing something is really off as far as the nature items - trees, etc go. The Wolverine should be fine with Taiga or Tundra trees and and plants that are from Asia, North America, or Europe, but I'm getting the red "x" that indicates they are not compatible with the species. Doesn't matter which trees or what not I try. All the flowers I've tried are the the same error.

Oh hey....it's not just the Wolverine. It appears to be completely widespread, from what I can tell, from going through the various zoos I have and looking at various animals. Not just the new animals, African Grasslands animals no longer sync up with the Africa nature, same for the other continents.....I will attempt to verify my files first. Anyone else have this issue? It appears to be every single tree or plant for every animal.

But hey while I"m on here to report that (and it's probably been reported already) - thank you for the three different colormorphs for the Wolverine. They are really beautiful in game.

Thank you so much PlanZo team for a great update. So excited for everyone else to take a stab at this pack.

Especially a huge thank you to @Lydiah Moon and @Francesca Falcini and your upcoming stream today. We always look forward to seeing you come up! Beyond that wishing you and the rest of the PlanZo team the best of holidays this year. I understand it’s a bit tougher this year but we absolutely do love and appreciate what you all do for our game. Please extend the blessings to the rest of the team as well, you all worked incredibly hard this year and went through a lot more than you should have, and I hope you’re all able to rest a bit easier this time of year with friends and families.

Thank you all again for the lovely pack 💚 Looking forward to what everyone else makes with it!
This is so incredibly kind of you, Leaf 💚 Thank you for always being such a positive part of our wonderful community - and I hope you enjoyed the stream!

Hmm the red X usually is there to quickly delete the said plants from the enclosure, if there is uncompatible plant, it will have a red backround, but the X itself should not indicate a wrong plant, it is just there to delete them. Can you post a screenshot?

Dev team, community managers and everyone at Frontier, the quality of animals in this pack is incredible. I am so impressed how your designs and techniques seem to improve every time. You raise the bar for yourselves and wowser you deliver above and beyond.

I’m in love in the swan which is so well done and can’t wait to add all these animals to my Zoos. Sooooo excited by the feather and fur technology you are developing and innovating. The swan also shows how complex birds are to rig and animate. A lot of work but oh my - look at the pay off and response. Seems like that is the animal that’s a hot topic right now!

The gift shop is amazing and makes me so excited for what is possible in the future. It’s so innovative and supports gamers who want to create these quickly, and others who want to build more intricately. The customisation is beyond what I think we’ve seen before in anything similar, and I never expected this to happen. Brilliant it’s aligned with the actual merch store too! Would love to see the plushies added for us to be able to buy for ourselves.

The Malayan Tapir and Clouded Leopard updates also show how much you listen to the community, and go above and beyond. Truly appreciated. I’m personally hoping for a lion update one day as I think Frontier could do magical things with all the improvements possible now.

I echo what many have said. This seems to have been a hard year at Frontier, and I’m wishing all the best to those who have contributed to our beloved game and now left, and those who remain with us. Wishing you all happy holidays. I hope you’re able to get some rest and recuperation with loved ones and have a time filled with love and laughter. You are such talented, creative and special people, and I hope you know how appreciated you are.

What a fantastic way to end the year.
By far the best update and DLC we've had in 2023. This is a real great day. The official Malayan tapir brings a lot of potential for future animal revamps (namely the 2 brown bears, the lion, and the wolf, plus a bison resize).

But, y'all, this is for sure, for real for real, my very last post. I know we've made it a joke every other time, but this time I'm being serious. My life changed overnight, and I don't have much time for a lot of things now.

I had a wonderful 3 years here, learned a lot about animals and about how zoos operate. Y'all have really opened my eyes to the animal kingdom: new species I've never heard of, animals that can or can't be kept in captivity, all that jazz.

We've had our ups and downs. We've laughed together, probably cried together. Keep up the positivity, don't let others bring you down. Ain't nothing gonna break y'all's stride.

Well, I guess this is it. I'm heading out. See y'all later, alligators. DarthQuell, the one and only DarthQuell, has left the building...

P.s. I'll still do the occasional update on my channel, though. But I'm not very regular
Good luck! Things won’t be the same without you!

A question about the gift shop - How much of the current shops can it "replace"? I haven't had much time to play yet, but even though my gift shop sells hats and balloons, I haven't seen guests leaving with a hat on or holding a balloon. Also, since you can sell umbrellas in the gift shop, can the guests buy umbrellas they actually use when it rains there like they can from the info? Can they "adopt" animals from the gift shops like they can from the info/just a momento?

Thanks Frontier, the Eurasia animal pack is a great DLC and I like the Gift shops, which came with the 1.16 update! Also, the new Malayan tapir model are great and realistic, unlike the original.

I suggest, that the Europe tag should be add for the Saiga, since also live in the European part of Russia!

Hamandryas is quite high in the request list, and we've had another giant land mangabey since vanilla (the mandrill), but yeah, baboons would be welcome.

More monkeys in general would be very appreciated. Japanese macaques are neat, but throughly unflexible due to the awkward vanilla choices for some animals.

Ah okay, that makes sense. I could swear that red x didn't use to be there. The backgrounds are not red so I guess there really isn't an issue, aside from my OCD about seeing a red x as a problem.
