Yup I kind of see it that way too. I'm hopeful we get four packs next year but I really think it's very possible just two. I almost feel like one has to be some kind of Central/South/Latin America focus and another for a wrap up if it's just two. I can only hope that many of the animals on the 2024 list will have a chance to make into the game. But we're at the point too where I'm looking at the upper parts of the lists, and I'm not so sure that will be the case anymore.

Quick question about the ‘any’-Votes: When I vote for let’s say 'any duck' to show that my priority would be to have any duck at all added, would I still be allowed to also put a specific species of duck on my list too to give a vote to that species aswell?

I did generic coati and tree kangaroo because it will help those be higher in the rankings...
BUT, if there is a species you are really passionate about you should probably vote for that one only.
I guess you could vote your favorite specie of duck at the top OR vote for a generic duck further down.
to actually answer your question, IDK if voting generic and specific is allowed?

No, and I'll make a note of that in the rules. Under that system, you could feasibly vote for a Mandarin duck twice. Pick a species for the second duck vote. They will show up on the general list with the other waterfowl.

You can make a more generalized vote as long as you aren’t “double voting” for an animal category though, right?

For example, I have no preference on which species of Spider Monkey, so I could just vote “spider monkey” and the vote would count towards which ever species was most popular. Correct?

Never understood the high request for the shoebill tbh as cool as it is. Other birds are more important imo, specially now. But priorities have shifted for sure.

Or just that they are being overtaken by newer asked for animals - that one at least, I can understand. We had plenty of animals that have risen from not being talked about at all hardly, to being very high on the lists. It's interesting that for the first year of the Metalist, there was very very little discussion of a Porcupine. About a year in people started discussing and mentioning it more, and the want for it just snowballed itself into the #2 position of the list.
