Yeah, it was something about ducks I think…

He might be gone from the forums forever, might not. He made a big post on the Eurasia pack thread about it, I hope he’s doing well now.
Oh nooooo! I can't find it, searched by his name and couldn't see it, maybe he deleted it? Could you try and find a link for me? He's so nice! The forums would really miss him! But his wellbeing is obviously the top priority, hope he's okay 🙁

The post is still there, on page 4/5.

Haha, I keep having internal debates about what is okay to share on the internet!

Just to be clear I'm not concerned about sharing things with all you lovely people, its just what sits around on the internet for bots to search that I'm thinking about. But my LinkedIn is out there and I think I've already given away my full name away a couple of times so I think this much is fine. I'll post my credit card details, passport number and full address later on 😂

I work for Cambridge University Press and Assessment. One product line in the company is English language coursebooks and exams. I work mainly on the exams. Sounds horrendously boring but its actually really fun! I love words and nerdy stuff so it suits me really well. I used to be an English language teacher and taught abroad for most of my 20s, then I did an MA in linguistics. So its not glam stuff but it is a lovely place to work and all the people I work with are amazing, smart and well travelled and really lovely. Working with kind people makes all the difference.

I'm afraid I dont know about how to get into the industry! All the actors I'm working with have a solid background in drama / performing arts / theatre so that's the mainstream route I expect. Then you get yourself an agent and get a portfolio on a voice acting website (different in each country). Much the same route as acting for tv/film/theatre I expect. Definitely looks like a fun career but also hard and lacks stability. Don't let that put you off though, reach for the stars, dream big, I wish I'd pursued my love of art and / or animal behavioural science when I was younger and taken less of a 'safe' route (which turned out to be very rocky anyway, teaching abroad is not for wimps and doesn't give you any stability!) I'm very happy where it's led me though and had some great adventures along the way 😊
Okay, I may have phrased that poorly. I just wanted to know what kind of job you had.

Best case scenario: Life keeps getting in the way.

Topic that just came to me: is there anything from any part of the world that you want to experience (food you want to try; sights you want to see; nations you want to visit)? Also, is there anything from your part of the world that you’d recommend to visitors?

As for me, I’m an adventurous eater. I’m willing to try new things. As for places I want to visit, I want to see more of the U.K., so if any of you have any suggestions, I’m open.

Oh i love traveling. There are tons of places i want to visit. Of the top of my head: SEA, Australia, Galápagos, Ecuador, Tanzania/Kenia, Costa Rica, Italy, Croatia.

My country has a lot to offer. My favorite región is northwest Patagonia. Forests, mountains and lakes. Beautiful sights. Great food. Lots of trekking and climbing to do if you are into that. And if you love Nature, Iguazú Falls is a amazing place and a must see if you ever travel to Argentina.

My top list is 1, Yellowstone 2, UK 3, Somewhere in Africa, maybe South Africa 4, South America 5, Australia

Yellowstone would be incredible mostly for the wildlife. I'd love to see a wild Bison and Wolves and Bears and stuff. I've been out west to some spots like the Grand canyon and Zion, and all the wildlife there was incredible (along with the scenery) so Yellowstone would be awesome!

The UK just seems to have so much to do. I would love to visit the popular destinations like London and Edinburgh, but also the lesser known ones that are a bit more local. Also I would absolutely love to see a Badger and have a full English breakfast!

Africa has a lot of awesome animals that would be breathtaking to see in the wild, as well as some unique food and culture. It would definitely be an experience of a lifetime.

South America, once again for the wildlife, but also food. I bet its to die for.

Australia is also incredible. The scenery, the wildlife, the atmosphere. It would be really fun to go one day.

For people looking to come to New England, I could put together a list a mile long of things to do and places to go.
For food, there are a bunch of good places.
. George's Coney Island Hot Dogs in Worcester MA
. Mike's Pastry in Boston MA
. Obviously Dunkin' Donuts
. East Hill Farm in Troy NH, it's a cute little inn on a farm and they have incredible food.

For attractions, here's what I'd recommend.
. Whale Watch out of Plymouth MA
. Plymouth Patuxet Museums in Plymouth MA
. Freedom Trail in Boston MA
. Old Orchard Beach ME
. Battleship Cove in Fall River MA
. Museum of Science in Boston MA
. Fenway Park in Boston MA

For zoos and aquariums, I would go with
. Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence RI
. Franklin Park Zoo in Boston MA
. Maine Wildlife Park in Gray ME
. Stone Zoo in Stoneham MA
. NEAQ in Boston MA
. Mystic Aquarium in Mystic CT

For Nature, I would reccomend
. Osprey Overlook in Weymouth MA
. Blue Hills in Canton MA
. There's a lot of awesome stuff around The Cape
. Mount Washington in NH

Yellowstone is AMAZING. It’s beautiful. I remember when I went there, and at one point we had to slowly drive through a herd of bison in the road. Old Faithful was amazing as well. I also remember coming across a lone male elk in a parking lot while I stopped to look at a waterfall.

I’ve also been to Scotland, and I really loved the castles. I was in Edinburgh for a day, but I didn’t have enough time to see the Edinburgh zoo.
. Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence RI
. Franklin Park Zoo in Boston MA
I’ve been to both of those, and they’re great!
