Do we win an Idris for guessing correctly ?
No, no. I also choose to believe CIG at their word. Their track record and their word is immaculate. It must indeed be server costs and customer support as they say, no doubt!

How many Harleys can one buy for a Legatus Pack now anyway? I think you're more like to attract a pillion passenger with a Harley than an Idris for those that care about that.

Harley and CIG are missing a trick here. They should be x-promoting. Free Harley spacebike JPG for this real bike! 5% off a real bike with a Legatus pack (with special back patch 'natch).

Food for thought
And these are complete wastes of money considering how quickly tech devalues. But I know what I'd rather have, probably more likely of getting some pillion riders with that than the other thing. 😄

Oh, and out of curiosity I did look up how many Harleys one could buy with UD48K$, it's up to 3 depending on model. One for you and each of the honeys, no pillions required. :ROFLMAO:

Ooh new ship, the Rambler, or is it a variation of an old one? Not sure. However the strangest thing about it is....individual paint packs, yes the paint on the outside of the ship, have different prices!

The Tectonic paint pack costs US$3.30 and the Noble paint pack costs US$5.50, it seems bizarre that one paint pack can be over two dollars more, is this some sort of magical digital paint that costs money to apply?

It would be interesting if that was the case, as my next question would be whether this kind of 'boosting' would count as paid promotion/sponsorship, which should be disclosed by the content creator.

It absoloutely should be, but then the whole thing fails, because the point is its meant to appear like organic/grassroots fandom. If people actually were honest about being promoted by CIG (or many other game companies for that matter), then its clear they are shilling.

"Roam the 1/4 of a system with a point light source pretending to be the sun."

I guess it also got moved to avoid having to plot routes around it or deter players trying to have a closer look.

The star is elevated and offset from the centered marker, and does not have a quantum marker.
Fun-Fact: Since the planets rotational axis are parallel to the z-axis (and not tilted), the offset position of the star is the reason for different lighting conditions on the north and south poles.

Ooh new ship, the Rambler, or is it a variation of an old one? Not sure.

It's a variant of the Cutter starter ship. It has a longer and wider cabin, shorter cargo bay and an extra fuel tank on the roof. Its apparent role is to be a slightly more comfy camper van than the base Cutter.

Its sibling is the Cutter Scout, shorter cabin, longer bay, larger powerplant and a "scanning station" in the bay. Not sure how that is supposed to work out a niche. It's still a single-seater, so I guess the pilot would have to get up, walk to the cargo bay, use the scanner, note down the direction to a target and then get back into the cockpit.

However the strangest thing about it is....individual paint packs, yes the paint on the outside of the ship, have different prices!

But but but, the artistic process for a plain color texture is so much cheaper than a fancy multi-color pattern that might have involved multiple meetings with Chris Roberts!
I guess they could put up a $1000 paint "designed by Chris" and it would sell :D
