= ex-girlfriend.
You tell her when you sober up?rookie move telling the girlfriend you bought a $1500 pixel space ship when you were drunk
One would think, but a quick check of his reddit history shows more than a year of playing with the greymarket. Welp.Pretty sure that guy posting about wasting his money etc is a troll. Has to be.
Star Citizen was built ass-backwards; from art-based concept into a MMO. The reason no other developer has done this is because they didn’t need to; they built the foundation up from their netcode. Star Citizen has abhorrent net code and they’re trying to fix their way into it.

It's flipping insane how they're literally just writing up different ways to say "we paid ourselves for XXXX" and their base is like "see! they're investing all that money into the project!"
They don't understand that expenditures are salaries and the salaries at Cloud Imperium are flipping disgusting.

But you’re right. I do have a beef. I work in game development and I flipping hate scams like this. And this is absolutely a racket.

Interesting - I've never considered it an addictive behaviour. Gaming, yes, but buying digital stuff not. I mean I get girls on fashion shopping spree and dudes buying toys and tools as a hobby, but jpgs?I feel a sense of relief that the girlfriend in this case discovered the destructive and addictive behaviour before they both tied the knot. Be it online poker, drugs, drink or star citizen...the dude has a self obsessed behaviour trait that's going to end up with him alone and more than likely penniless with family or friends having to pay the price for his nonsense in the end.
I've absolutely no sympathy for him as an individual, no more than I would for any junkie (be it indeed a true case rather than trolling for lols), but it's as well he didn't drag a marriage and kids down with him when he's been spending the rent money on nothing more than a selfish habit
Let's hope he doesn't have any pets he can starve or neglect in order to buy more pixel spaceships...
Meanwhile...back at the ranch. My own uncontrollable spending habit has resulted in a VKB Gladiator EVO NXT stick (with premium grip RH) to replace my broken X56 and the over industrial Warthog stick I just hated...plus a ridiculously expensive Nacon revolution 5 pro controller to use with the PS5...since I disliked the Sony dual-sense symetrical thumbstick cheap plastic rubbish from the start
No pets or wives were harmed or offended in the pursuit of either of those purchases
I bought her off with a new set of branded seat covers for her Land Rover and a new mattress topper

It's not the buying of the jpegs per se but the perceived 'status' in owning them, the more the merrier...or the bigger the better. Ci~G have promoted this elitist owners club status right from the beginning.Interesting - I've never considered it an addictive behaviour. Gaming, yes, but buying digital stuff not. even though I've already been banned from HOG several times...
Endorphin loop - it's a well known problem for gambling addicts for example. The predatory marketing from CiG exploit this fully, one good example is their usage of artificial scarcity to create FOMO, which is a well known lever of that endorphin mechanism.Interesting - I've never considered it an addictive behaviour. Maybe you should'ave left Heckler&Koch out of it.......for 'persistent heckling ...
...Don't tempt meMaybe you should'ave left Heckler&Koch out of it.
I was a tad more rude...on the last occasion about 10 years ago, I rolled up my never sewn on HOG Life Member back patch and suggested to the Dunedin chapter president where he should shove itI had to look up what heckling means. I can imagine Mole doing something like that. Probably spraying beer over people in a futile attempt to suppress a laugh.
