Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Is it my imagination, or is there a family resemblance here...? :geek:

Not sure what I'm gonna do with this planet... Still some bios I haven't found yet, but the planet itself is a pita...
On the day side, you struggle seeing even rocks due to the combination of ammonia atmosphere and a surface that reacts to the light in a way that leaves very little in regards of shadows. And then there is the topography of this planet which offers close to no flat surfaces to land on. And those rare flat areas are often littered with rocks in all sizes. Which makes it difficult to land and if you find a spot actually use your SRV.
Maybe I should leave the planet and head over to the next one, hoping for better terrain there...

If it has become annoying move on, if there is something really worthwhile left you can always try again later.

I remember that. But I can't remember what GGG stands for...
Golly Golly Gumdrops
Ghastly Green Gunge
Green Gas Giant
Great Grandmaster Godzilla

I think the most valuable on that planet would be an Aleoida... Which seem to be exceptionally rare on this planet. I found Tussock, Frutexa and Fungoida by searching in regions that are indicated as possible Aleoida locations, but only one patch of Aleoida in several days... Might be almost as valuable as the three I've found together, but I'm not sure if that justifies bearing the torture of trying to find it...

My test flight to IC 4604 finished and then I got a bit more engineering done. Veil West coming into sight. And, the newly painted purple SLF returning a pathetic assay of the surface below's poor excuse for volcanic activity.

Then I landed anyway and got stuck on top of a fire hole, failed to get off, SRV hull at 50%, gotta get outta here! Ohnos!

Yeah. I had a planet this week where I had to drive across plain to get wave scanner bearings, figure which ones were not half the planet away, then write down that bearing before I got back on the ship, fly over properly crappy terrain, land, find the signal again and make sure I didn't accidentally fly right over it, rinse, repeat.
