They always highlight the best quotes 😁

I swear whoever compiles these has to be trolling...
I think they put the raw “we managed to turn on a computer” into ChatGPT and request it turn it into a riveting exciting and ground breaking event.
Eg:
"Embarking on an unprecedented journey in connectivity, our revolutionary engineering team has triumphantly achieved the herculean feat of orchestrating fiber to reach the elusive rack. In a dazzling display of technological prowess, we've shattered barriers and paved the way for a new era of data transmission. Witness the birth of an unparalleled milestone as we unveil a groundbreaking event that promises to reshape the landscape of network infrastructure, setting a standard that has never been reached before."

CIG! Hire this man!

They're just taking the mickey. It's an elaborate way to tell people that it's just a big crapshow, that nothing moves forward and that development is firmly bogged down in its tracks. Once the ship goes down they will point to it and go "We told everyone that we got nothing done."

I asked ChatGPT:

Oh, the renderer update. I bet it's picking up speed and coming together, isn't it Little Ant. Oh, I forgot our inaccurate colleague doesn't come here anymore. One day he became so inaccurate - he typed in the URL wrong.
I hope his inaccuracies don't affect his job career at this point. Then again, maybe being inaccurate IS the job.

They've actually got dedicated devs in their team.

Who spent the new year helping out marketing ;)

[...] The team is also looking at updating the tourist behavior to accommodate large-scale events like Invictus and IAE.

More reworks for the list tucked away in those reports then:

They're having another stab at getting the transit system to work with PES. (And at getting ship / station docking to work reliably too ;))

The team also continued last year’s work on the transit system, preparing it for an upcoming refactor and completing work to ensure the current version is suitable for Server Meshing and Crash Recovery. This involved implementing a safe-recovery system for players who experience a server crash while inside moving transit. Engineering also continued refactoring the docking and landing systems, including a rewrite of the automatic dock/undock feature.

Oh my, I thought nicking the term ‘refactoring’ from cig to be mean to my clients was something - but ‘preparing to refactor!’ That’s next level of not doing anything

The thing is, this sounds like it isn't even gonna address the main PES-introduced issues. ('Jitter' instability, rising to complete train lift off during server crashes).

It's just gonna try and ensure they don't permanently journey miles into space / underground during a prolonged server recovery. (I'm guessing that's how the extensive transit joyrides ended during the recent Replication Layer tests ;))

It's just more sticking plaster over the hole in the dyke...
