International Union of Zoos (Roleplay)

sorry about that, also I might be stupid, but I am having a hard time understanding what you are saying.
I'll simplify it: There is a list on the first post that collects the info of each person's zoo, these include zoo name, zoo location and the persons forum username. For the purpose of role-playing, the list serves as a detailed list of members of the union of zoos.

Intern mail to the mailing list
Dear IUZ members,
UNITY has finally started its Oasis area that will focus on african animals.
We are therefore hireing new keepers and vets and would like to fill the position with intern staff from IUZ zoos first. Applications and recommendations are appreciated.

UNITY does not sort its animals by family, so keepers with expierince with a variety of animals, including primates, ungulates and carnivors is prefered. We do take in ambitious beginners as well.

Kind regards
UNITY Human Resource Management

We have great News today. A new Species moved into our Discovery Center. Welcome the Platypus. Those are quite rare outside of Australia so we are really glad that we got the Opportunity to exhibit this Species and also teach our Zoos Guests how they can move without Problems through dark and murky Water

We really enjoy seeing your Progress and the Alligators really seem to draw the Crowds in. We've also planned to someday build a Alligator House, which might also include a Enclosure for Spectacled Caimans. It will take a While though until we can start the Project.
The Raccoon Enclosure looks really nice. From what I've heard there are some Raccoons living in a Shrine relatively close to our Zoo. So maybe we can get the Permission to get them into our Park if we can catch them. Shouldn't be too hard to get the Permission for it because they are a invasive Species here anyways

This is one of the strangest Things that ever happened in our Zoo. This Morning the Police appeared at the Zoo Entrance, asking us Questions. At first we wondered what might have happened. Then the Police Officer explained to us that they got Reports of a Woman screaming. We`ve feared for the worst. We`ve immediately told our Security Staff to search the Park together with the Police. Then we luckily got a Call from one of our Veterinarians. It turns out that it was one of our new Inhabitants. A female Mountain Lion. She is in the Mood to reproduce and that`s why we`ve heard those Screams. Our Director immediately told the Police. They still walked a few Rounds through the Zoo to be completely sure and then left, happy that no actual Crime or Incident happened.

Sapporo Wild Animal Kingdom, construction on your gator facility seem to be doing good. that is a great sea loin habitat, we don't plan on added sea lions to our NA section but might add them to an aquatic area.

The Alligator House is mostly finished. We need to expand on the Caiman Side because their Space turned out a little bit small, but the American Alligators are doing fine. Maybe we will add a additional Outdoor Pond for them.
The Sealions already became our Guests new Favorites. Before that, the Tigers were our most popular Species. We've even constructed a few Underwater Viewing Domes for our Guests to observe them while they are diving. The little ones already reached the Age at which they also start to go into the Water and it is absolutely adorable 🤭

Our Albino Alligator is currently off Display due to Aggression within the Enclosure. We're currently planning the Construction of a suitable Enclosure for him

Today we want to share a Newspaper Article.

Strange Phantom Cat Sighting near small Farm
On Monday a Farmer (who wants to stay anonymous) near Sapporo woke up in the Middle of the Night, hearing loud Noises from outside. Thinking that it were just some Wild Boars again, that rummaged through his Crops, he looked out the Window. It was just a single loud Shriek coming from one of his Fields and then Silence. But he wanted to make sure that the Boars leave his Crops alone. He got outside with his Shotgun and did a Warning Shot to scare the Boars away. What he then saw, absolutely surprised him.
The Eye Witness said at first he thought it was a Dog, but he quickly noticed that the Proportions don`t seem to fit. He described the Animal as a large Feline looking Animal with a long Tail.
Zoo Officials of the Sapporo Wild Animal Kingdom said they aren`t missing any of their Animals but they will look into it

Good evening fellow Zoo Directors,
Apologies I have been out of touch for a while - after avoiding it for 3 1/2 years Covid finally got the better of me. Fortunately our dedicated team at Spin the Wheel Rescue are more than capable of looking after themselves. It's even a little galling how well they got on without me!

We have two new gentlemen rescued from Australia after the terrible wildfires. They were being cared for by a local rescue but that team are preparing for what might be another serious summer and are struggling to cope with the volume of animals with a relatively small number of staff. So we've adapted the front of what will eventually be a train station to accomodate our new friends and the enclosure is adequate for now.

However, we don't have any marsupial specialists on staff at the moment, hence me reaching out to the network to ask if anyone knows any keepers with Koala / marsupial experience who might be looking for a change. Any recommendations to improve their welfare would also be very welcome (by us and by Benjamin and Cooper!).

Many thanks,

Lena Onmi

The whole Team of the Sapporo Wild Animal Kingdom really hopes that this Disease will be gone soon and that you will get way better. I think one of our Zookeepers lived in Australia in the Past. He should have some Marsupial Experience. I'm going to ask him when I'm at the Zoo again.
Currently outside, doing Things regarding that Phantom Cat Case. Asking Eye Witnesses and searching for someone who can build a suitable Trap

We'd be grateful and wish you luck on your investigations! Sounds odd but as we work with a lot of wild-caught animals that have ended up in the illegal pet trade we often have to attract them to specific places to start the transport process. You may not want to use food bait to lure whatever it is to the farm because then they may associate the farm with food and keep coming back in a way that may upset your locals! We have had some success with using a specific perfume to get the cats where we need them to be and apparently some teams have found success with it even in wild settings. You can find more details here.
