Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

I have a feeling I made a meme for that before 😂
Maybe not the exact portal one but similar, my favourite meme from the winter thread.

Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same.jpg

Snub nose is in the very same situation as the american black bear or wisent, where its only important to one region and also only really kept in that region.

While i too would prefer a monkey that usefull to everyone i still think condeming the snub nose because its not kept in NA, Eu and so on but wishing for stuff like ABB or wisent at the same time is hypocrisy.
And at this point im just desperate for any monkey really

Out of all of those we got the wisent which was the least interesting of the bunch for me 😂

Gimme Golden monkey

PZ (PC version) not included in upcoming Frontier Unlocked btw. So does JWE2 despite there being DLC close, but it points out these streams arent meant to tease small content.
Probably the streams are reserved for larger content announcements and catering to mainly the elite dangerous playerbase, I imagine any discussions and hints about dlc content will be left to the social media posts.

So we are definitely gonna wait a bit longer to hear any news then.

I’m not saying this to be petty or rude, but if Planet Zoo is their best selling game on PC how come it doesn’t get the same long lasting content as Elite Dangerous? I’ve never even heard of that game until I joined the forums.

I imagine making content for Planet Zoo is harder? Is there more too it I’m missing?

Elite dangerous is frontiers child basically having roots back in the 1990's. I think early versions of elite were frontiers very first games which explains the company title.

Where does it say the streams "aren't meant to tease small content"? I don't see that in the tweet and this is what I'd always assumed. So I'm curious to read it myself! Haha.

The way they talk about these streams has made it feel like they'll be talking about what we already know, maybe showing off a bit of gameplay for something announced, etc. I think the hints and announcements will take place via socials with the stream showcasing gameplay, screenshots, etc. for whatever's been teased leading up to it.

So, that said, I'm expecting Planet Zoo PC won't pop-up again until April. Of course, that feels like it's way out of whack with what we're anticipating timing-wise for the DLC... But March feels too soon with the console coming.

Man, this is messing me up a bit now. LOL

So we are definitely gonna wait a bit longer to hear any news then.

I think it's fair to assume we won't get any news for at least another two weeks. And it could potentially be longer too, depending on how they want to handle DLC rollout in combination with the console version.

If we have news within ~2 weeks I think it's also pretty safe to assume that whatever's coming will drop for console and PC at the same time.

Elite Dangerous is an MMO, it's pretty normal for those to go for decades when successful, even if relatively obscure. There's no monthly fee, so the DLCs and in-game transactions are where the income is from to keep it running.

Planet Zoo could reason a similar logic, it's using DLC profit to oppose server costs, but shutting down the servers one day doesn't render all purchases useless.

When they are done with hosting servers, they do strike me as people that might offer an opportunity for fans to host servers, though probably on a smaller scale.

Golden-snub nosed monkey is literally most common langur in captivity. Just skill issue from other members of this family it seems.

Can I ask where you're getting this? Hanuman langurs are in basically every zoo in India, and quite common in Europe and other regions. As far as I know, GSNM is only found in East Asian zoos? Given the size of China, Japan and South Korea, it's still possible that the sheer number of zoos there means that there are more GSNM holders, but I would doubt it unless it's literally omnipresent in Chinese zoos. Hanuman langur is like a baseline animal in South Asian zoos.

(I know that grey langur taxonomy is in flux, but I'm referring to Semnopithecus entellus which refers to the Northern Plains grey langur, also known as Bengal or Hanuman langur. Science now seems settled that the Southern Plains grey langur is part of the same species, not a distinct taxon. Northern alone made up most all of the captive grey langurs, which is a huge population on its own. Add in Southern and it's even more widespread.)
