If some of you guys think your Internet feels worse than what your speedtest suggests, there was an interesting conspirational theory some days ago in a german Blog (Fefe, also some people on golem.de and heise.de hinted it might be true) :
Basically, lots of Sites which do speedtests are thought to use a special key number, translating to "speed test" in the query, or sometimes even as plain text. Some Providers were suspected to automatically scan for these and give them a priority channel, so they get good results. Evil.
Not sure if there is something to it, but it wouldn't baffle me if it were true...
