Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

While editing a video I figured I might as well put this in here, how would people feel about this roster for a Latin America Pack?
2 Unique rigs (based off siamang with heavy improvements, other based off raccoon with heavy adjustments) 1 that I would imagine would move in a similar way to the capuchin, and the rest clones but still popular. This would be my ideal roster, not what I imagine we get but it doesn't seem that far fetched looking back on it which is why I posted it here.

I actually dont think this would be to unlikely to get for a Latin america pack. In fact its a pretty safe bet for a roster i think.
I think the monkey + coati combo should a 99% given for a SA focused pack at this point. And Frontier being Frontier the bear and ocelot are probably also all but guaranteed and they probably wont be able to contain themself from not including an ungulate so one of the 3 camelids is probably also gonna show up. And the rhea being simultaneously a highly requested and pretty easy to make animal is also highly likely to show up.
The exhibit animal is pretty much impossible to predict with frontier.

My feeling about the roster heavily depends on if there will be support after it.
If there is support after it its hard for me to be super upset about it, i get my monkeys and coati and the rest are highly requested animals important to the region. So sure why not.
If it is the final pack having 4/7 of the habitat spots taken up by another bear and cat, another differently flavoured ostrich instead of a new type of bird and the llamas wild cousin would be pretty disappointing to me personally in all honesty

Between the two wild South American camelids I'd go for the guanaco (much more common in captivity) over the vicuna, even if it would be a clone. I'd also frankly be very upset if we didn't get the Patagonian mara.

Let's see where people are right now regarding certain groups. Out of these "core zoo animal" groups which is your most wanted habitat species?

Carnivorans - South American Coati
Ungulates - Reeves' Muntjac (I think this and the blackbuck are the last two that are truly essential)
Primates - Any Callitrichid (Tamarin, Marmoset, etc)
Other Mammals - Rock Hyrax
Birds - Too many, I think right now I would say Pelican, Rhea, Stork, or Guineafowl, all my most wanteds are birds at this point.
Reptiles - African Spurred Tortoise
Carnivores: South American or white-nosed coati
Ungulates: Nigerian dwarf goat
Primates: Geoffroy's spider monkey
Other mammals: Patagonian mara
Birds: Southern ground hornbill
Reptiles: Sulcata tortoise

Overall the ideal lineup but I would still prefer the howler over the spider monkey.

This is a nearly perfect lineup in my eyes! I'm only missing a Patagonian Mara.

Well you removed the swan which is arguably the most popular animal in that pack and the reason a lot of non-european players bought the pack (my self included)

I agree is weird they went with the sloth bear instead of the EBB but i'm personally glad they did that haha i do understand your point though.
I think the only reason they didnt add the european brown bear is because they haven't added a new subspecies to a pre-existing animal since australia and every one that does exist except maybe the dingo has faced extreme backlash. So they are likely avoiding new subspecies especially now that the clone and boring animal arguments keep gaining traction.

Honestly I couldn’t complain if I got this, I’m not too picky on the monkey wether it is howler or spider.

Personally I would swap the ocelot with the Patagonian mara, I do want an Ocelot, but I would prefer the mara.

Also I would replace the vicuña with another bird, any of the following: roseate spoonbill, American flamingo, scarlet ibis, or a brown Pelican.

Still I like the pack quite a bit!

It's a really decent pack. I'd personally switch out the Spider Monkey and Vicuna for a Howler Monkey and Patagonian Mara, or at least switch out the monkeys, but I think it
is also a mostly realistic pack. Again, the thought being having the Spider Monkey, Tamarin and Coati may be one too many complex animals for design for one pack.. switching out the Spider Monkey for a Howler Monkey would mitigate that. I don't think the Howler Monkey would be too difficult to do, probably similar to the Proboscis Monkey in terms of a starting point. I guess I just feel like a Howler Monkey is the most likely Latin America primate we're going to get.

Capybara, Asian otter and red panda the favourites? Absolutely no suprise there. What is surprising is the kiwi being quite low despite many people coming off as the kiwi is a very well known and loved bird. Kind of backs up the statement that casual players couldn't care less about representation of minor regions around the world and favour cuteness and the visual appeal of the animal.

The only really surprising thing is that the janky lion made it onto 24. :D

Was the question favorite animal in game or favorite animal in general?

I'm very surprised at the Giant Panda being as low at #16. I would have thought top 10 if not top 5 for sure. No surprise that the Capybara and ASCO are ranked highly though I wouldn't have necessarily thought #1 and 2. It's a bit surprising the Tasmanian Devil didn't make it in at all, but that just means it wasn't in enough people's top 20. For all we know, it could have been #21 for a ton of people and it wouldn't make a hit. Just goes to show though that what we here wanted doesn't necessarily correlate to more general audience. Though if they're watching Content Creator's videos they already have some interest in the game and animals. They may just not be hardcore animal enthusiasts.

Been thinking too, about having threads like this for when the final official roster is done.

Amur Leopard being that high seems weird to me. I would have guessed it would have been in the 20s or 30s, not #10

Its a fate that the panda shares with alot of basegame animals, where they are incredibly popular in real life, but in Planet Zoo they are just kinda there.
