Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

I would really prefer the first option. For example, I would like 1000 times more an Aviary Dlc for the last pack than another year of support. I think we had all of the essentials (Except South America, we need at least 1 animal pack for there), so for me the only keystone are the flying birds.
If I could be selfish this would be my last 4 DLCs:

  1. A pack for arboreal animals (black howler monkey, tree kangaroo, coati, African monkey, chameleon)
  2. A pack for exclusive South America animals (Rhea, Mara, monkey, bird, bonus animal)
  3. A pack for birds
  4. A pack for rounding up remaining meta wishlist + Nigerian dwarf goat for last petting zoo animal (baboon, walrus, etc.)
So two animal packs and two scenery packs.

If we get one more year it'll be fine with a final pack that is just 8 animals as usual.

To encompase the most animals and if we do have 4 more DLC i would push LATAM for June and get scenery pack in April.

2. Rabbits
3. Dwarf goat
4. Highland cattle
5. WTE: idk. I can only think of birds lol

2. Coati
3. Spec bear
4. Patagonian mara

Alright, here's something to think about:
Would you prefer one last, larger, more focused on community favorites and "essentials", finale pack that also includes scenery OR Planet Zoo has one more full year left of the classic 2 scenery and 2 animal packs formula?
I would definitely want the 4 packs option. Though I think its so unlikely that I don’t even think too much on it anymore unless it comes up in conversation.

Still aiming/hoping for 2 more packs though instead of just 1

Not enough info to go on for me. Would this hypothetical larger pack include the same number of species (22 habitat + 4 exhibit) and a roughly equivalent amount of scenery (300-450 pieces plus animal signs) and the only difference is the theming (with scenery in this pack being more generic)? If so, then I would 100% prefer the bigger pack right now. Helps that most of the species I really want at this point are higher up on the meta wishlist too.

But if it's what folks have been speculating (8-12 habitat species + exhibit and a standard amount of scenery) then I'd prefer the 4 packs over the rest of the year, I guess. So long as I got assurance that they would be paying attention to the wishlist in a similar way that they have been (e.g., at least 1-2 animals from the top 5 make it into each pack).

Here’s a question, we all wonder what the new animals will be. But what about the new free updates? If we get any at all.

I can imagine some fixing to climbing, or maybe some last second changes to the exhibit or WTE.

Or absolute Hail Mary we get some new cool birds/ fully aquatic animals.

I hope they can fix some of the unreasonable animal attributes, like dhole not being able to tolerate cold temperatures and snow, adult pandas being able to live in groups, and sloth bears having taiga in their biomes.

I didn’t mean to start a full on carnivore tier list party but I’m not gonna complain,
  1. Bush Dog; The most unique canine in my opinion left alongside a couple others, I like building for smaller creatures and am not the biggest fan of making climbing structures like everyone else. My list of SA wildcards is growing.
  2. Honey Badger; I’m basing this list off of what would do best for the game, not what I personally want, otherwise the Pallas cat would be on top lol I think the Honey Badger would do great for the African animals roster.
  3. Pallas Cat; we still don’t have any small cold cats, the caracal and Sand Cat are both humid species, so the Pallas Cat can help diversify cold climate builds and Asian sections in general.
Everything else isn’t something I either expect we get or something I don’t want. I really want the Serval but I don't expect it and it wouldn’t do as much to the roster as the Badger.
because we all know there are more important and wanted animals that should get into the game and honestly I hope Frontier thinks so too.
That’s literally what I said twice, I said I think that there are more important groups that need attention, but if we are gonna get more carnivores like we get more ungulates, the carnivores are still different from each other.
on top of that you genuinely think your picks are more different or unique compared to ungulates when in reality they are just as similar.
I disagree, they are more different. All ungulates we have gotten recently are incredibly similar in size, Addax, Gazelle, Somali, Saiga, and the Camel only being slightly bigger than the previously listed. Meanwhile we when we get carnivores we get them in a variety of sizes, for example the Tassie devil and sand cat being smaller, fossa medium, sloth bear and maned wolf being the largest. Plus, the majority of ungulates we got last year were from Africa, meanwhile we got carnivores from Africa, South America, Oceania and Asia, and the remaining missing carnivores are still spread out among those continents.

I’d definitely choose a full year

Spring: Alpine pack
1. Markhor
2. Spectacled Bear
3. Gelada
4. Golden Pheasant
5. Japanese Giant Salamander

Summer: Latin America animal pack
1. Geoffrey’s Spider Monkey
2. South American Coati
3. Southern Tamandua
4. Golden Lion Tamarin
5. Patagonian Mara
6. Greater Rhea
7. Roseate Spoonbill
8. Plumed Basalisk

Autumn: Greater Asia pack
1. Reeves Muntjac
2. Francois Langur
3. Greater Pelican
4. Mandarin Duck
5. King Cobra

Anniversary: Mantled Guereza

Winter: Safari animal pack
1. Secretary Bird
2. Grey Crowned Crane
3. Honey Badger
4. Greater Kudu
5. Southern Ground Hornbill
6. Hamadryas Baboon
7. Shoebill
8. IDRK

Personally, I think we need at least two more carnivorans :

  • a coati
  • a small mustelid, either stoat, marten, weasel, polecat or mink ; my choice would be European mink because it's very emblematic for its conservation status.

Then, the following are very good but not absolutely necessary :

  • a cold climate otter ; the sea otter would be my candidate, but the NA river otter and the eurasian otter fit the bill too
  • a small cold climate cat - the pallas cat's would be my pick, but the EU wildcat or the Andean mountain cat would also be good picks
  • a small tropical cat - the ocelot, margay, or jaguarundi ; preferably SA of course.
  • a civet or a genet - IMO an underrated pick, maybe the most surprising of this list. My current top pick for this category would be the asian palm civet.

Honestly depends on how its actually executed. So cant give a defenitive answer.

Im actually quite happy with the roster as it is now. Of coarse there is plenty of opportunities to make it even better.
Besides birds (WTE is fine for me, always have been also) I would be very happy with 3 or 4 extra monkeys and also some petting zoo animals would be nice.

So I guess I would like the slightly larger last pack to be the: Interaction pack.

With
  • 3,4 petting zoo animals (Pygmy goat, geese and Flemish giant rabbit and maybe a donkey).
  • some monkeys (tamarin, howler and squirrel monkey and Barbary macaque)
  • 4 ground birds (duck, Victoria giant dove, ibis and pelican)
  • 3 walk trough exhibits with toekan and macaw (both with several divergent spiecies like with the butterfly’s), Lories.

And the free update has interactive playgrounds. Of course all the animals have the guest can enter option (all these animals are kept in a walk trough habitat in at least 1 zoo in the Netherlands)

With the monkeys and birds it would also represent South America a bit more too.

I think it would be a winner 😊

Well things are certainly different this year but my usual routine this time of year goes like this
December buys dlc and plays a lot
January plays a lot
February I take a break but I begin to ponder what sprigg be dlc might be
March at some point I get back into the game while keeping an eye on the internet for hints.
I was very annoyed in 2022 when it took forever to announce wetlands. I really really hope that we get some type of announcement, I know the console is top priority, to have to wait until June for a new dlc is going to make me crazy.

At least we know the dlc should arrive march-may as the latest financial report did mention at least one more dlc this year which means before the end of may.

I have a very on-off relations ship with PZ. I usual play it around when the DLCs come out and other random time frames dotted aorund the year.
Usually i get pretty inspired, play quite alot for like a couple weeks or a months, get burned out and put PZ aside for a bit.
Havent actively played since like november i think 😅

Alright, good point I should have been my detailed about what I envision as a larger finale pack - let's just say the average amount of scenery pieces set around one theme (150 -200 pieces) and any range of new animals between 8 to 20, mind you there will be exhibit animals taking up some of those slots.
