Yeah but also in no good conscience could I put a baleen whale in any zoo exhibit, Orcas are the closest. Even then I question if they are truly too big for captivity. Ocean animals not only need a large exhibit, but a deep one, all with chemically controlled and filtered water. Elephants only need a wide open space, imagine if elephants had to be kept indoors but needed the same space requirements. It would be insane!

Not really no, but it looks like there's still a few places that keep them (Apparently 56 currently captive around the world), so it wouldn't be too unusual to see.Orcas do not belongs in captivity either.
Yes they do. Close to where i live there is one of such awful places. Not really no, but it looks like there's still a few places that keep them (Apparently 56 currently captive around the world), so it wouldn't be too unusual to see.
Ah man, I copped this for putting a manatee on my wishlist.
I have always been down for a petting zoo or children’s zoo type pack. Whether someone likes it or not they are part of a zoo experience, and should be replicated in the game Planet Zoo.I know many people are not for farm DLC before PlanetZoo gets all the 'more important' animals.
However I believe spring, this or any other, could be best for introducing such pack. I used to live in a village full of farm animals so I associate spring whith them, when all the cute babies were born, all the work begun...
The free update with it could introduce some playgrounds for kids and feeding automats for certain animals (the ones for customers which gives zoo more extra coins and doesn't overfeed the animals) and/or the pet zoo zones for smaller animals which would be otherwise strange to build classic PlanetZoo habitat for (like guinea pigs, rabbits and such)
I know plenty of people would hate such pack before all the big species are filled, BUT IF you don't think about that, would you like this pack? And if yes, which animals would you love to be added?
Yeah, as much as I think a sequel will come that is where I get caught up. But looking at Zoo Tycoon 2 the aquatic expansion was so beloved I can totally see that almost justifying a sequel alone. Personally I would get a sequel to get aviaries and aquatics, but I am also not super keen on the idea of rebuying animals I bought in the first game.Alrighty, hot take. I've been seeing this more and more and I'll just say it, I don't really think Planet Zoo lends itself to a sequel. Like at all. The concept is not fruitful in the slightest in my opinion.
I mean, what will that look like?
Planet Zoo 2: Oh yeah, but this time we actually have some flying birds and idk maybe some fish lol
- Almost all the ABC, iconic zoo animals have already been incorporated to this game.
- Undoubtedly, many animals will have to be left behind to make room for more, so now you have a 1998 Pokemon Blue and Red situation. Sounds looks a regression to me.
- DLCs would probably have repeats, do you really want to pay $9.99 so you can have a polar bear or meerkat, TWICE?
- What new mechanics will be implemented that we don't already have? We have rides, keeper talks and shows, a functional gift show.
There's still a petting zoo feature I guess? Playgrounds maybe? But is that really enough to warrant a sequel?
- Will players have to start from scratch with their impressive custom builds?
- Then there's the issue of fully aquatic animals. imo Marine life is way too vast and diverse to be confined to a simple expansion. They deserve the respect to have their own game.
I don't hate the idea of what could come with such a pack. I love the updates and features you mentioned and really would improve the playing experience. I would add to that more parent/offspring interactions.I know many people are not for farm DLC before PlanetZoo gets all the 'more important' animals.

This is the biggest issue for me personally, I can get around the whole dlc and different/new mechanics but I have like 6 massive zoo recreations that take months to years to complete. Having to start over is an extremely unappealing thought which I would likely just stick with the first game unless there is some serious new additions to the game that makes it worth it. I'm just seeing planet zoo 2 failing like cities skylines 2 did when considering what can truly make a sequel worth the hassle. Will players have to start from scratch with their impressive custom builds?
Exactly! I've building my first proper, spared no expense, massive zoo and it's taken nearly a year. The idea I'd need to start from scratch just so I could potentially have macaws is far from appealing. This is the biggest issue for me personally, I can get around the whole dlc and different/new mechanics but I have like 6 massive zoo recreations that take months to years to complete. It certainly doesn't lend itself to a sequel at all ("safe" money is the only reason for it), but I think it still looks like the direction it's going (Jurassic World Evolution 3 is a pretty similar case, but there's a new movie on the way and financial trouble in the recent past).Alrighty, hot take. My thoughts as well. I guess birds, aquatics and domestics for a sequel are a possibility but the big animal names and recognizable faces are what bring money and i don't think many people would be willing to pay for those TWICE and if they include everything we already have in the base game that leaves them with a bunch of unknowns for the general audience outside of maybe whales, sharks, some domestics and some flying birds like macaws, toucans, owls, eagles. But i don't see how they would sell a full sequel for years with just that witouth having to re sell some of the popular animals.Alrighty, hot take. Perfection, all I need is my special boy, the HYRAX BABY!!!!!!!!!I'm going to try to design an appealing sequel:
- Nearly all of the habitat animals and most of the scenery would be preserved from Planet zoo 1 with some additions to specific groups.
- The animal market would be redesigned to match that of Ultimate. For those unfamiliar, that meant choosing an animal category and picking your species from a menu of other related animals. Base game: $60-80 full price
- For the base game, groupings could be: antelope, goats/sheep, bison/buffalo, deer, pigs/peccaries, rhinos, hippos, elephants, giraffes/relatives, equids, bears, big cats, small cats, hyenas, marsupials, ratites, flamingos, lemurs, canids, capuchins, and apes.
- Note: Almost all of the base-game grouping would be limited to mammals, but that would quickly change.
- There would be a keeper mode in which you could care for the animals.
- Instead of getting tiny DLCs every month, there would be a larger, more-expensive ($30-45) expansion once or twice a year featuring animal houses:
- Reptile/Exhibit House: Adds habitat crocodilians, giant tortoises, monitors, iguanas, and a green anaconda for habitats and re-introduces exhibit animals with an exhibit overhaul. Now, you could pick from a huge selection of frogs, snakes, and lizards. This will also add a butterfly house with a wider selection of butterflies and moths. There will be a variety of exhibits/exhibit sizes for each type of animal.
- Small Mammal House: Adds some smaller mammals, including rodents, xanarthra, arboreal marsupials, lagomorphs, civets, montremes, foxes, tiny cats, aardvarks, pangolins, and musteloids. A few really small ones (i.e. sugar gliders and hedgehogs) could go into exhibits.
- Aviary: Adds pheasants/relatives, waterfowl, cranes, storks, and pelicans to habitats and an aviary system for parrots. Passerines could have loops near a birdhouse object, and there could be mini-avairies for injured raptors.
- Aquatic Expansion: Adds penguins, otters, pinnipeds, a few sharks/rays, a few fish, and perhaps smaller whales and dolphins? There could be a dozen or so smaller aquariam exhibits.
- Primate House: Adds a broad selection of new world monkeys and old world monkeys. Tamarins, howler monkeys, macaques, guenons, langurs, marmosets, uakari, saki, gibbons, and baboons would join the roster.
- Petting Zoo: Adds petting/feeding stations and a few varietys of different domesticated animals. This could come with playgrounds and carousels.
- There would be a better set of tutorials and a more-interesing challenge mode.
- More interactions among animals and between animals and guests would help bring the animals to life.
- Animals could have personalities, dietary preferences, and favorite toys. Guests will give increased donations to happy animals.
- You could manage a social media outreach campaign for marketing as a main job. Create videos and pictures of baby animals, track conservation projects, showcase good habitats, present research, and other things to gain attention and funding. Some you would do yourself, others (i.e. research) could be done by staff.
