Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Is sampling activity back to the level of a few months ago now Titan's are vulnerable

I can't bring myself to do it, so picking off Orthrus in alerts and Scythes + occupied pods in Invasion/Control. Suspect that's little or no value compared to sampling
Orthrus is still reasonably effective, rest... not so much.

Just to confirm it was indeed enough at the end - Good times, good times.

Goodness—our mission docket for this evening has disappeared! I think it will be a more relaxed evening, perhaps using the time to correct a few engineering gaps with the delivery vessels we assumed would never need to jump independently.

Aside from light-attacking T. Leigong in HIP 8887 while it still has resistance, my suggestion for pilots seeking war actions would be to visit Minawara (84%) while it has still one port to defend.

I'll get on with HIP 9643 - only managed 1000T last night so someone else did more of the work.

INIV mission log for this week, since Sunday:

SystemDistanceStrengthPayload
Arietis Sector XJ-R b4-118.48 Ly37923821
Arietis Sector NX-U c2-1917.16 Ly50362890
Arietis Sector BQ-P b5-216.97 Ly~53002638
HIP 964315.91 Ly~63003623

I’m honestly surprised how quickly some of those invasions got swatted. HIP 9764 especially felt like it just jumped up to completion like lightning connecting to the ground.

(Though I was also not active there and didn’t actively monitor its progression anywhere. Then when I did check it was suddenly complete.)

Currently running evac missions in Minawara and noticed it's not showing as a damaged port in the system map. It is on DCoH and is still currently damaged and offering critical evac missions in case anyone was wondering. Not just small missions either I was able to pick up 414 patients in my cutter with 20 missions just now.

Anyone got a ballpark idea on how long we have to prepare for the big assault on Hip 8887? I missed the first one due to family emergencies but want to get some practice runs in before the main act. Got a krait build from cmdr Mechan's vids already have azimuth ax guns and will be swinging by Luytens star to get the better ax missles after the tick not sure which is better so want to do some test runs. Guessing missles are for burst dps against the cores

Very much so. You can do the most damage to the cores with them, but they’re inflexible and probably not very good to hit Scouts or Glaives with. Nor would they do a lot of damage to hearts. (Interceptor hearts.)
The krait I'm using is the same one I've been using for maelstrom diving in the past its cold running and fast figured I'd be best off running from them. I have no experience on this yet other than vids I've seen from the burr pit so wanted to test things out and if my krait pops its rebuy is insignificant to me. Either going to run 3 large azimuth mcs or 3 large Sirius missle racks with a med thermal vent beam and nanite torpedo rack. As soon as Minawara completes I'm heading to Luyten's and will start making passes in Hip 8887.

Well, we've had 5 days since people started on this Titan and done nearly 20% of the first heart - so around another 20 days to get that heart done. And there are eight hearts total, so another 7 * 25d for those. Around 195 days? According to google that's September 17th. Such is the power of brute force even on a moderately small Titan :)

Hopefully the work done this week on the Thargoid BGS will reduce this significantly, but we won't have much of a clue until probably the end of tomorrow.

Very little—as soon as Elite returns after the extra maintenance tomorrow, expect all of those cleared systems this week to be inundated with Fleet Carriers! Said main act really has already begun, for attacking the Titan now will still damage it at around one-third rate compared to T. Taranis, but from tomorrow I expect the damage rate will give it no more than a few days to live.

Obviously the actual rate depends on every Commander attacking it, and whether Frontier changes anything of course, but with present knowledge I think meltdown by Sunday would be a reasonable projection!

Trial by fire it is haha already moved my fc into a system close to hip 8887 and yeah those systems around it are already filling up. As soon as Minawara completes I will go unlock a few Sirius missle racks and get my krait ready to start hitting the titan tomorrow thanks for the info.

Lol seeing how fast the first Titan went down doubt it will take 195 days. Either way I will be geared up tomorrow for whatever happens

A lot of time is wasted on vents not deactivating or hearts not retracting / appearing. If said fix for that works progress could jump significantly. I'd estimate 2/3+ of my time near a Titan was affected and there might be people who try it a few times and give up until the situation improves

Ah didn't know people were having issues like this hope it gets better after the server reset. Got my fc parked one jump away in Hip 10047 will start attacking tomorrow and see how things go. If it's still messing up a lot I'll probably go back to critical evac missions till there is a fix.

Good point. I hope fdev have more luck addressing this than they did with other ax issues like the invulnerable hearts ... 🤞

As i said, we will have a better idea once we've been through a peak period - basically this time tomorrow.

Plus the weekend. Player attrition seems inevitable though so even at High damage resistance(if Leigong drops below Extremely High which looks likely, at this moment) the rate of progression which Taranis achieved will probably not be replicated here.

Emphasis on probably. And at the very least after two Titans are 'gone', the Thargoids will probably stop (just) watching to see if we're stupid enough to continue with this.

Elite has been designed for time wasting -with very much style-, but time wasting. "Wheel hamster-ing" even I would say.

If you destroy Titans too much quick, Fdevs will "tweak" the total Titan life bar, or weapons damage, etc.. "Balance" its called I guess.
Taranis has been destroyed in March because that was the plan. Have no doubt about that.

Enjoy your time playing Elite, don't compromise anything in your real life for a round more attacking the Titans.
