Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

To be fair, nobody's mentioned "Mountains" for at least a week.
I got to be honest, if it wasn’t the last dlc I would LOVE the mountain pack. That’s what I was kind of getting at with my last post, when we still had a full year of dlc left a mountains pack would make sense! We still have a full year, maybe we could get the children’s zoo pack, or a mountains pack, or any other fun combination. With this being the potential end of support, all we can think about are what is missing from the game. Which has been the same handful of issues since launch:
  1. South America
  2. Birds
  3. Monkeys
And once again to add onto that, the other animals at the top of the meta wishlist.

Honestly surprised we haven’t touched on a petting zoo pack yet given we’re coming up on the spring pack.
I think petting zoo/ children’s zoo mega final pack would be a not terrible outcome for a final dlc. Not something everyone would want but certainly has its uses. I still think we could use the goat, and maybe one other domestic. A children’s zoo pack opens the door for other animals, like the Mara and a monkey species. Maybe if they pull a JWE1 we get one WTE bird in the budgie. I guess to talk about something new this would be my hypothetical:

  1. Nigerian dwarf goat
  2. A duck species
  3. White nosed coati
  4. Squirrel monkey
  5. African spurred tortoise or any tortoise really
  6. Patagonian Mara
  7. Wild slot, maybe another bird?
  8. WTE: budgies
Add any number of building pieces and props, I feel like this is a realistic pack (besides bird in WTE lol)

I thought we talked about that like yesterday?
I was being sarcastic. Bad medium for that tone... Haha. But hey, at least we haven't talked about "Islands" recen--oh wait. Nope. That's been covered recently too. :ROFLMAO:

Somebody just pointed out that it's been discussed but... I think the reason it's not being talked about more is simply because folks are assuming that the upcoming pack will be the last and we'd all be stunned if that were in the running as the final pack.

I still stand by it being a really cool, fun, and unique scenery pack idea if we had a full additional year of support (i.e., 4 more DLC). It would be a nice change of pace if I'm being real about it.

I think the Mountain pack idea got obliterated with the release of the Eurasia pack. There's still some options out there but they're not quite as in-demand as the ones we previously got.

The wisdom of the forum last year said the same thing but all we got was a boring sloth and gibbon reskin.
I want the alternate timeline where we got the Lar gibbon in the Conservation pack and a South American monkey in the Tropical pack. The siamang is fine or whatever but let's be real... The interest in that particular sub-species dipped the second the Lar gibbon hit the game.

Come on Frontier, we are all waiting!

Im very much in favor of getting a petting zoo pack. Maybe not as the last pack but if there is like a full year more absolutely. At the very least throw the dwarf goat into the final pack.

Im currently building a petting zoo area in my zoo and there is just literally nothing to put in there. The llama and fallow deer kinda sorta touch on that but not really.
Its weird that such a prominet part of zoos is ignored so far, atleast for birds and aquatics there is a reason

My petting zoo areas often consist of a messed up roster of:
  • Llama
  • Fallow deer/reindeer
  • Female dall sheep (sheep sub)
  • Female alpine ibex (goat sub)
  • Female pig of choice
  • Female wild water buffalo (cow sub)
It does the job but a dedicated petting zoo area really needs at least 2 more domestic animals to feel right.

Duck and rabbits. There. The only two domestics i would be ok with.

Yeah i have female dalls and babirusas in mine for know.
But what i really meant is stuff you would actually see in a petting zoo on a regular basic, which we have a grand total of 0 animals of

My roster would be
-Shetland pony
-Dwarf goat
-Some kind of chicken or duck
-Rabbit
-Exhibit gets canceld because nothing fits aside fom budgies and stuff

I just want a goat, a pig, a rodent and a bird, especally cause they all would be unique next to their wild cousins aswell.

Dwarf goats are well dwarfs with the dwarf mutation and live in tropical to desert africa, making it the polar opposite in biomes to our current goats.

The kunekune pig is from new zealand and likes to swim, giving it also a clear edge in location, new behavior and usecases.

Any domestic rodent, be it the guinea pig, chinchilla, bunny, degu or rat will provide us with a usefull new rig and great building opportunity in another member of the prariedog and meerkat tiny dudes Club, easily my favorite club.

And a bird is a bird and even better could be a duck and you know my opinion on those.

Tdlr: Give me Domestics im starving

Macaws are pets let’s have macaws

Honestly this pack isnt half bad even as a final pack. Though I’d almost personally have to sub out something for the Shetland pony so we’d have one last equid
