Titan War - Leigong Rewards

"reward is bad, cause isn't something ultra new and unique, is similar to little older kit, and is doable in 5 minutes"

🤦‍♂️
The big issue isn't that it's similar to an older kit, but rather that it's actually a carbon copy of the older kit's model with a different coat of paint. I understand that you don't necessarily wanna spend a lot of development time on new stuff just for this, but what annoys me is that it's just a re-paint. Even if you took the few assets made for the kits and did a kitbash with them (Where I actually proposed something I'd do, and which would make the kit unique), that in itself I'd be far more excited for. Like this, I touched on why I felt it wasn't the best (Especially considering the buyers of the original kits).

And what I meant in the five minute mark is that it is absurdly easy to do in one of the extremely popular engines out there.... And I don't imagine Frontier have much worse development tools as a base, else that would be very concerning for future development.

It's neat getting free stuff, BUT. I like this game and want the devs to put the best foot forward so it has a long and active future ahead.

It's a good looking coat of paint and it's free. Absolutely no reason to complain. Besides, it's only the second award--there are Carapace ship kits and liveries for only 5 ships (Chief, Cobra, Krait MKII, Anaconda, Cutter) so 3 rewards could be something completely different--maybe the players who participate in the deletion of 6, 7 and 8 Titans get increasingly unique swag?;) I know I'm going to get whatever it is because titanbombing is quite chillax and there is never too much free swag:p

(That's my custom-built "trophy room" Cobra with quite a few rare parts and modules beside the Titan attack goodies--CG phasing multicannons, 4A double-engineered FSD, Guardian parts, Colonia bridge decal).

Especially in exploration, where you "explore" by using list of already discovered worlds :D
Spansh knowledge, and Top profit/hour, a common question in reddit.

Current research, plotting routes add the system coords to spansh database, and can be used for more direct Fleet Carrier path to your destination, only need a ship with a jumprange like 71.4Ly (500Ly/6), every 6 jumps, you have a valid target close to the 500Ly distance in a straight line. Source: I discover a system while docked in a FC, and the owner used a spansh route. Spansh himself explain me the use of route data. Also Canonn asked to "plot a route" toward a list of stars with incomplete coords, to fix the problem.

And for finding the smaller world with a human base, Dahan system, Nelson work, for climbing skyscrapper in Low G. And found something for the onfoot circumnavigation club at perfect heat. Spansh become a powerful tool, and the basic tools are only preconfigured options.

For real explo knowledge, I have the IGAU observatory file, Arcanic videos, and other researchs. And Im a generalist, dedicated players are Ly away from my limited knowledge, but its great read something advanced with a good explanation.

The best form of exploration = Ditch the third party tools, forget the 71LY jump range, point the nose of the ship in any direction and hit the FSD.

And wait until the slow FSSS Ui show the Helium content of gas planets, if mats for premium FSD inyections, open the Orrery view for finding close binaries or moons near rings, or anything from the multiple data that make a system special. Elite Observatory can automate this to mantain my sanity. Thats why I installed IGAU criteria or elite observatory, some of his knowledge condensed and share to the community.

They did the FSSS update to prevent flying to each single body in the system, and we have tools to do the math for us and give a warning if we miss something. I used the Spansh search for Stratum tectonica profit.... but also discovered a new bio on Izanami sector, Tussock Virgam Teal, doing the fastest method give enough time to enjoy the slowest method. And thanks to third party tools, everything you discover will be used for other players in the future. I find the third aprty tools mandatory, the game lack a lot of extra info, and some research need from the big data to categorize all the variables.

Also discover reverberation in the old Horizons Amphora plants. No tool or previous research show this. Dont mistake my extensive use of third party tools, with a ignorance of anything outside this tools. We can do both, and third party tools also share info to other players and databases.

What I did was sort of the reverse of this.
  • Picked an ultimate destination system, last return trip it was Leesti
  • Using Spansh FC plotter sent my FC ~500ly along that route.
  • Chased it in my Hauler exploration ship
On fastest I would get 11/12 systems each leg of which until I got within a couple of thousand light years from the bubble almost all but the Carriers destination would be first discoveries, if I was feeling compulsive I could switch to economical and get hundreds of systems per leg.

The best form of exploration = Ditch the third party tools, forget the 71LY jump range, point the nose of the ship in any direction and hit the FSD.

That works as well but the method I described above I found remarkably relaxing and effective even though I was offset from a direct line by only a few hundred light years.

If im with the carrier i do it the other way around, i use a tug ship to fly 500LY then jump the FC.
My tug/tow ships range from 30LY to 50ish, i hate to miss stuff ;)
I never use Spanish, always plot my own routes as i can often find many unscanned systems even on well trodden direct paths just by moving up or down a few hundred LYs.

Badges and decals are great but to be honest as i play in Solo it doesn't really matter, who's going to see them 🤷‍♂️

O7
Well you for one. But also anyone pulling up your Cmdr profile. But yeah, I could see the limited use of it for solo only players. But still they would look nice.

... but, if chasing rank alone, that is incredibly inefficient and only done by tourists like me, without any star class filtering... My most junior account is halfway to Colonia, not on the Galactic Plane, and mostly visiting "M" class stars along the way (as they are commonest) - they aren't going to be elite anything on arrival, but it doesn't really matter 🤷‍♂️

So if I missed to participate in attack & destruction of first titan, i will be 1 reward back from all others anyway? And I can earn only 7/8 rewards, is this correct?
As right now I've got 1st reward for 2nd titan.

Agree i do try and collect them as a personal achievement, but as i don't have an updated commander profile on any third party site, that bit makes no difference.

I tried an allegedly efficient method once, R2R, after only a few systems I realised the danger wasn’t burning out but being bored to death, so I stopped doing that and had fun instead.

that seems to be correct

And if true, a little bit disappointing
I am not sure I find the idea of only being rewarded for events one took part in and met the criteria for disappointing.

I got back into the bubble and I position to visit Leigong about 5 hours before it exploded and was delighted when the revised award criteria, to compensate participants for the bugs, meant that my mere tourism didn’t entitle me to the rewards. I know I could have just not used them if they were given but it was better not to get them for something I didn’t do.

As it stands I could potentially earn six out of the eight but I suspect I will get fewer than that.

This has been contentious for some forum members - it would appear that it is incredibly short-sighted of FD to have a time limited event without consulting with every player of the game, so as to ensure thay everyone is playing and not washing their hair that week...

RL stopped my playing the lottery last week, but the numbers I had on my card were the winning ones, can I get the £36 million I missed out on as I was walking the dog?

RL getting in the way of RL no, maybe if it was the game getting in the way of playing the lottery?

Personally to avoid lottery FOMO I used to use Lucky Dip now I play automatically online.
