Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

we can absolutely 100% confirm we are not going to get the planet zoo: rollercoaster tycoon dlc!

Real talk, I know it's a different title, but does not mean the long rumored Planet Coaster 2 might not happen?
Idk maybe there some restriction going all with it?
Like Frontier isnt allowed to do anything Dino park related since they own the JW IP
Could very well be that this deal included that Frontier wont do something themepark aswell.

And idk seems kinda strange to me anyways to sell your well known IP of a Themepark game to a competitor when youre planning to release one youreself.

Just wait until the final dlc, then it will definitely be quiet in threads like these.
You say that but... It'll just evolve into a Planet Zoo 2 Speculation & Wishlists thread that'll basically just be a re-tread of your feature update wishlist thread.

If anything, I think it means it's more likely.

At this rate, my thread is already a stealth planet zoo 2 wishlist. Totally realistic suggestions like multiplayer or reworking every single base game animal aren't going to make it in an update or 2. But yeah I can see the same happening with the main speculation thread, my thread is good for taking in votes and organising what we want but the main discussions always happen in these threads instead since we love having one big speculation thread in the forum rather than in their own dedicated threads where the discussions really should be taking place.

Well if we’re trying to emulate what it would look like when support ends we’re doing a great job 😂
I'm honestly kind of looking forward to the end of support. I was going to play over the long weekend for the first time in ages, but a bunch of my remaster mods needed to be redownloaded for updates and such and I just couldn't be bothered. Final DLC + Final Update means I can get them all one last time, and any future remasters added to the list will be one and done.

Then we can look forward to the far flung future for a sequel (maybe...hopefully). Unless they pull a Colossal Order/Paradox Interactive and bungle it like Cities Skylines II.

Blasphemy! :D

The hate for extra crocodillians has allways been overblown and at times non sensical.

People are still clammering for more canids, bears, antelopes and especally felids but crocs is where we draw the line?

I agree that id rather get any other reptile then a croc, but a croc that brings something new, which really isnt that hard with stuff like the slender slouted croc, african dwarf croc or even the two running crocs with the cuban and australian fresh water croc.

The most ironic part is that those crocs are "to similar and wasted space" while subspecies like the northern lion are often brought up by the same people.
Ah yes sure a new different looking croc is less deserving of a spot then the EBB, pardon me
Im fully against the idea of adding more subspecies to already existing animals its just way too specific. I think one of the major issues with crocodiles that makes people not want them is the amount of them we have compared to every other reptile. We need other habitat reptiles well before a crocodilian but and african crocodilian would do more for diversity then another african ungulate.
Thats why im against the nile but for the slender or dwarf, cause the only difference between nile and salty would be model quality, meanwhile the other two actually do look distinct
I would agree with you expect the nile crocodile is infinitely more well known then the slender snout especially to a casual audience so would be the more iconic choice even if they look similar to saltwater crocs.

I just wanna see how they handle Planet Coaster 2 if thats even coming. Depends how much of an improvement the second game is to the first.

I mean if Frontier went back over all their old content and brought them up to last year's DLC standards I'd be all for more content. At this point though there aren't many ABC species left to add and a lot of what the community at large wants are species I don't particularly care about one way or the other, and then the ones that I would really want and use tend to be ones that earn me a spit in the face for mentioning (except monkeys, of course, but besides a few weirdos and contrarians everyone recognises the need for more monkeys).

Sumatran tiger? Yes please. Proper Eurasian wolf? Very much so. More African antelope? Hell yes. Serval? Please and thank you.

Coati? Secretarybird? Muskox? Patagonian mara? Nice to have, as any species is ultimately nice to have, but they aren't by any means make or break for me. Ultimately the Oceania Pack solidified what I consider to be "the best they can do" for my personal needs (again, aside from monkeys, the abysmal state of affairs of which they ought to be embarrassed about considering there's only one DLC left). I'm not playing to build a recreation of Prairi Daiza or San Diego Zoo, after all. I like my staples.

Aside from a very select few species of animals the only things I really wish we'd gotten prior to now are a gridded chain-link building set and a temperate Oceania map (without all the cruddy islands).
