If legacy was closed tomorrow, it wouldn't affect the main game as these are two totally separate games.
As many have said Legacy will only get critical fixes .
We won't even get new Paintjobs or even the twitch drops ..
The advertising is from way back and even Fdev can't be bothered to change that until they really have to .

I've noticed that at least one of my paint jobs from twitch isn't in the list of available PJ in-game, whilst others are.
(I only know it's not there as it's already applied and the livery page always includes whatever is already on).

They really need to adjust both console marketing descriptions to accurately reflect the current state...
... as well as give it away free, if they already are not - just to ensure that they have to option to shut down the service without causing issues from players who paid their money for the game the previous day!

Hey it's my job to do Doom 🤣.
But yes that would make more sense.
So probably not instigated as that would mean someone working on legacy and it wouldn't be a critical fix

Yeah NMS is ok, Starfield is boring but there isn't anything like Elite for consoles unfortunately and it's still being played by many console players even in the squadron leaderboards there is a healthy participation.
So as long as it's on there will always be people who will play it .

Flight simulator is actually the closest thing we have. When I'm flying over Japan or the Faroes or whatever, in my Ornithopter, I think back to David Braben talking about cloud technology (fluffy clouds, not servers) and I think this is what Elite always could have and should have been

Cheers I totally forgot about MSFS which shows what can be done even on consoles 😉

You think Frontier would shut down Legacy because someone asked them to correct false information on a website?

I’d like to think Frontier are better than that.
