So, with console sales do you guys think it’s possible we get more dlc?

I don’t think we will, but I guess that’s dependent on sales.

Not really, most likely console sales will be used to support future developments. The odd chance maybe high sales of the console version especially dlc sales will make frontier reconsider cutting off support to support planet zoo for several more years.

I think console is "floating" things while they work on the next CSM game. Even if console and its DLC sell really well, and the PC version continues to do well... It may still not be profitable enough to warrant continued support and DLC development. It might be worth more for them to just let them both sit on the shelf and sell what's already existing. And I think that's where we're headed. You can say that more DLC equals more profit but it really just means more revenue.

Remember that, for Frontier, as much passion has gone into the game... It's a money thing. We all know there's plenty they could do to round out the animal roster, scenery items to be added, new features that could be implemented, and so on. But the numbers need to add up for them to do that even if they want to do it. And it costs much less to just keep selling the Wetlands Animal pack to new players than it costs to develop a new pack.

But, if console does something like doubles or triples the player base (and does so quickly) with the vast majority of those players buying all DLC that get released? Maybe we see a revival or a pivot of some sort. I highly doubt it, though. It's all about scale at this point.

Also something to add, in the past we are able to roughly guess a handful of animals in the next pack, but we usually don’t get things 100% right. It’s making me wonder what the next theme is, and to be honest with it being the last pack I’m wondering if none of us are gonna get it right. Way too many things are up in the air.

It’s gonna be subspecies and clones of base game animals. But don’t worry! We know how much you guys wanted monkeys and birds, so we got you the drill and the green peacock :)

Haven’t been keeping tabs on PZ “news” for a few weeks now, any guesses as to when we’ll hear something? Personally I’m guessing the final DLC won’t drop till right before the end of Frontier’s financial year, this May. Have something “new and exciting” to talk about in their final report for the year. Their priorities are definitely other places at this point.

I think another interesting element to all this is when exactly they’ll start promoting the new CMS game coming this fall.
