Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Man the africa pack that came out like 3 months later really delivered, bringing place 1,2 and 7 on the list. Cant imagine a small penguin is that far down past nr 23 either
Looking at 2021 we still miss (in that particular order):

1. Musk ox
2. Walrus
3. Howler
4. Gray crowned crane
5. Secretary bird
6. Baboon
7. Spectacled bear
8. Blackbuck
9. Markhor
10. Serval
11. Ocelot
12. Shoebill
13. Iberian lynx

From the first 60 animals from the list we have received 47 and only 13 are still missing.

Well i guess the iberian lynx is not on the table anymore after we got the Eurasian one.

Still not a bad set of animals. Didn't realize the serval and the ocelot were that high even back then.

I guess howler has the biggest chances of all the monkeys of any is to come in the next pack. Has been in the top for a long time. But coati and GTM have been in the top 10 of wishlist for a long time as well (just not as much) so they are also possible.

They're all impossible. Even up to 12 animals seems impossible. Let's not expect anything other than a standard DLC for the final one. 4 habitat, 1 exhibit, 150-250 scenery pieces.
That’s cheating you didn’t answer the question 😉
I did call them all “impossible” so it’s just the one that seems the most likely, even if there hasn’t been a precedent for it. It’s all just for fun anyways.

But I’m gonna disagree a bit, Frontier does have a habit of doing larger DLCs for the final pack. Now I agree the 12+ animals aren’t very likely. It’s most likely gonna be something along the lines of 8 animals and scenery. If they follow Grasslands they can do 12 animals, 5 being exhibit or WTE and scenery.

While I agree it’s good to expect nothing and be surprised, and I will agree with you in that Frontier doesn’t owe us anything. Our relationship is only what it ever has been for a company and consumer: transactional. This doesn’t lead to fun conversation though, especially for something like a speculation thread.

The top 6 animals have been asked for awhile, still seem as popular as ever. My best guess is they have good chances to get in the game! Wouldn’t be my preferred animals for a pack, but hey, I’m not gonna dent people there favorites.

Out of that list My top 5 most wanted are: howler, ocelot, grey crowned crane, secretary bird and blackbuck.

And maybe a slightly larger all américas pack is still possible:

Howler
Ocelot
Spec bear
Walrus
Musk ox

All these fit under that topic, i would add rhea, coati and maybe another bird like a pelican and you get a reasonable 8 animals pack. And to expand that to 12 WTE with a variety of tamarins.

Honestly I'm just flat out ignoring all wishlists that aren't completely bonkers. I think we can reasonably say that "niche species X" isn't going to make it in at this point, for example.
Well, I ignore all type of wishlists, because these are repetative and boring.
There is really nothing worse than seeing spam of animal checklists featuring mostly same species with meta-wishlist as citation lol.

Well to play devil's advocate there is also the argument that a lot of those animals we're popular enough in their own right to make it anyway (african rhino, meerkats, dromedary, procupines, etc)
Yeah thats an argument that ive been throwing out previously aswell. Especially back in the earlier days the animals at the top of the wishlist were pretty much the very obvious addtion to make to a zoo game.
Thats not to say that they never looked at it, but that stuff like an african rhino, sea lion and meerkats didnt get added only because they were high on the wishlist but because they are just the obvious animals to add.

I feel the development of the dlcs rosters over time kinda proofs this. As these nobrainer inclusions got added and therefore got ticked of the list, we kinda see a trend of packs having less and less "top of the list" type of animals over time. The earlier DLCs were usually full of them, having like half or more of it filled by highly requested animals. But ever since like the europe pack i wanna say we saw a trend of mostly just 1 or 2 of the really highly requested animals per pack, with a couple exceptions

Just not birds of course.
It’s gonna happen this time guys. I just know it

No, no, they have definitely been paying attention.

IMO the existence of the WTE and the fact that we have no birds to put in it is our strongest hint that a sequel is at least being imagined by Frontier. There's really no other good reason to exclude even a basic selection under these circumstances.

Edit: I should clarify, when I say "no good reason" what I obviously mean is, "no good reason I can think of". There might be a very good reason, but looking at historical reactions to bird discussions, the community has always seemed firmly divided on how they think Frontier should proceed. A good portion of folks here have typically been very against birds as exhibit animals, for example. Frontier might very well have decided to just exclude flying birds altogether to avoid any headaches.

I agree, although I think the odds are slightly in favour of an animal pack with 7 habitat and 1 exhibit animal.
I won't say it's not a possibility, but it's safer to bet on the status quo. Eurasia was an animal pack, so it follows that our next DLC will be a scenery pack. I still think the absolute best we can hope for is a 7+1 pack with some kind of scenery attached to it. Even that seems optimistic though. We'll see.

10.000+ players on a random April weekend several months after we have last seen a new DLC.
Since nobody else talked about it I made a video:

Just posting it here since I already pointed it out a bit yesterday in this thread
I guess the sale, console release pushing PZ back into the limelight and DLC season being around the corner (more or less) are to blame here. But nice to see regardless.

Edit: Nvm you mentioned them all in the video, maybe should have watched it before commenting :D

Weird about a second dlc in this FY. I though was just one dlc for jwe2 according to financial report.
If the pdlc from thr financial report are the dlc for pz console?
