Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Dino bros are also peaking 🦕

And so are coaster pals 🎢

It is literally just effect caused by huge sale.

So if the Easter sale effectively doubles the playerbase... Why doesn't the winter sale do the same? Speculation last year in the winter thread was all about the winter sale being the best so the dlc has to have a strong lineup.
I’m gonna guess a number of things:
  1. Winter sale is around Christmas, for most people they might be getting other things. During the spring it’s not like you have a massive gift giving holiday like Christmas. So it’s a perfect time to get PZ. Not to mention PZ is an “older” game. So imagine most people are getting the newer games around Winter.
  2. Console release probably brought attention to PZ on Pc.
  3. Not to be awful, but the Eurasia pack line up was only great if you are a specific player in the player base. Europe as a whole may make a 1/4 of the player base, but outside of the swan the Eurasia dlc doesn’t provide much for the average player. While I make use and love every animal, others may not feel the same.

Well this winter sale was around all the issues with franchise, the modular giftshops etc. I was playing a little and wanted to play more around that time but it was just awful. I can imagine many people ragequitting the game around that time.

Lmao I am my friend

A bird is gonna come in the new dlc, from the player base demands, to a new rig being made for only one dlc, to the secretary bird being #1 on the meta wishlist.

The thing is when I or others ask for “birds” it’s in the plural. At most frontier has done two birds in a pack, and with the final dlc being made the question becomes how many are coming?

Really gonna depend on if its the last one and what theme it will be.
The want of more birds has been growing for quite a while now, and frontier would need to be both blind and deaf to not have caught onto it by now. And i think they have, seeing how the last 2 dlc almost had as many birds as the 14 dlcs that came before. (Could also very well be that penguin and kiwi were just the easiest options for OCE :D )

If its the last dlc and is something like 8 animals plus scenery it will probably have 2 birds. The first is imo almost certainly the secretary, because its one of, if not the highest requested animal. And the second one will very likely be on the easy side, so probably something like the rhea.
Not really what im hoping for but its what i think is the most likely.

They're all impossible. Even up to 12 animals seems impossible. Let's not expect anything other than a standard DLC for the final one. 4 habitat, 1 exhibit, 150-250 scenery pieces.
They have done a 12 animal pack before with grasslands and I could easily see something like that happening again for a easy bigger final pack because its easy to just retexture the same looped exhibit animal 5 times to boost total numbers.

Also based on the information we have the only option that is impossible is fully aquatic habitat animals as there is no precedent for it. We do currently have a fully aquatic exhibit animal with the axolotl so a fish is an easy transition we have bats and butterflies so birds are doable. they are not impossible within the framework currently given just very unlikely because of future potential selling power and how they would currently have to be implemented being not optimal.

I do feel it is reasonable for us to assume that the final dlc will be bigger since most previous games of this genre released by frontier have had a bigger final pack. It probably wont be much bigger a scenery pack with 8 animals or an animal pack with between 12-20 animals is most likely and a large portion will be easy retextures. this will however likely not be this coming dlc the timing just doesnt feel right.

Really for a strong pz 2 i would want aviaries, exhibit overhaul, a handful of animal reworks, and then maybe like petting zoos or aquariums or something?
Would barely be anything for me honestly. I mean, I can already make aviaries in the base game, exhibit animals actually being treated like animals in new types of exhibits would be good but not that big of a change, animal reworks I can just get mods for, and petting zoos I can already make.

Some of the stuff that I would like them to add:
  • Keeper Mode / First Person Management Mode. Right now in any mode it just feels like you’re building a zoo (sandbox mainly) and quickly dealing with guest complaints (franchise mostly) and if you don’t feel like doing either of those the game is kinda eh at least for me. I want the game to have more ways to play than just building, so the player has options. A keeper mode that puts you in the job of the keeper, gives you a golf cart and a list of duties to complete each day.
  • All of the first games animals in the base second game. I don’t care how they do it and I don’t care what strings they have to pull, if they have to resell a bunch of PZ1 game animals through new packs I’ll be very disappointed.
  • A lot more underrated animals. One of the great things about JWE2s roster upgrade compared to the first games is they added species no one knew of that well, imagine frontier adds a bunch of species we didn’t have at the top of the meta wishlist like another stork, aye aye, more underrepresented primates, etc.
Plus a lot more features I don’t feel like adding detailed descriptions for:
  • An actual STORY mode. Change the career mode to a story mode that works as a level system, have cut scenes and dialogue with Bernie Goodwin or other fictional characters and work with them to make a successful zoo and move stage to stage; so instead of choosing any scenario randomly, the player actually has to play the entire mode and get involved in it. It’ll work like JWE campaign where you’ll have all your zoos across the globe and be able to switch to other zoos of yours and manage things from across the world. Move up the ranks from managing one zoo to managing A LOT of zoos in a large community and get busier by the day!
  • Petting Zoo pieces + animals
  • Aviaries and Flying birds (duh)
  • Marine species
  • New staff (marine specialist, mascots)
  • Extinction Expansion Pack ( An additional storyline that lets the player have a chance to correct the mistakes of the past for recent extinct species. Adds lots of new pieces, extinct plants, recently extinct species, and a new expansion in the story mode) yes I know this would be controversial but to me if done correctly would be really good.
  • Specialized Staff Hiring. Just like JWE2, show logistics of staff when hiring to add to the management side of things.
  • Seasons + Guests dressing for temperature.
  • A bit more realistic looking guests.
  • All animals high quality (to the quality we expect now)
  • New Enrichment.
  • Petting / Feeding Animations.
  • Strollers
  • Classrooms / Educating programs
  • Organizing events (boo at the zoo, Christmas markets, kids events, etc)
  • Playgrounds & Splash pads
  • New Animal Behaviors
  • Animal sub categories for generic animal species (specific animals like coati or mandrill wouldn’t be effected, but things like tigers or giraffes would have more specific subspecies you can choose from)
  • Water freezing in cold temperatures
  • Museum & Taxidermy pieces.
  • Advanced aging? I’m thinking of prehistoric kingdom where they have the baby, adolescent and adult skins, would be cool if we got adolescents but I don’t expect this.
And that’s all I got for now lol.

The problem is no one here is asking for 5 animals of the exact same type (which the butterfly is just one animal with color variants labelled as a new animal), we are getting 5 wildly different animals in wishlists like say add on a walrus, tree kangaroo, echidna, secretary bird and blackbuck on top of the already normal sized animal pack.
