Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Maybe it’s not the best place to discuss this and I didn’t come to any assumptions but this is simply weird:

Yeah this came up already. Kinda got mixed feelings about it tbh. Its nice that apperently frontier is doing better, but its also kinda a crappy move to rehire the positions you let got not even 6 months ago.
My guess would be that these are intented for the 2 new games coming up

Perhaps they made redundancies and then people left. Technically the new role would be replacing those who left rather than those made redundant.

By law I’m fairly sure you can’t just recruit for recently made redundant positions.

Was also a typo on my part. Its like half a year ago.
Maybe different game projects make a difference? Idk
They also had one person quit after they laid the others off. Between that and the fact that it's likely for other projects? It makes sense that they would be hiring.

The whole general scenario has left me feeling the "ick" but I also have to say... I've been on both sides of this fence. Things change. Sometimes it's poor planning, other times things just don't work out as planned and there's nothing you can do about it. My outside read on all of this is that it's probably more toward the former in this scenario but I don't know that it's really fair for anybody to speculate because we're mostly just seeing two things (e.g., reactions from people who were let go and this job posting) and these kinds of decisions have a lot more to it than that.

The situation still just really sucks.

Well the Yak is the most iconic animal of the Himalayas, the most famous mountain range possibly on earth.
And then I choose the domestic version over the wild version because:
1. as far as I’m aware, there’s no wild yaks in captivity, but domestic yaks are very common
2. choosing the domestic version makes them a more versatile pick, being able to be included in not just Asian sections and Himalayan sections, but also Children’s Zoo and Barnyard areas and
3. A tonne of colourmorphs make this a more interesting looking pick as opposed to the wild yak, which only comes in one colour.
The current reliable records of wild yaks in captivity are in two zoos in China. One is the Qushui Zoo in Tibet, China, where there are three .

The other is two juveniles from the Xining Wildlife Park in Xining, Qinghai Province, China, who were rescued from poachers.

The Beijing Zoo in China also raised wild yaks before, but unfortunately, the population failed to survive.

It is rumored that there are still some wild yaks in some private farms, but I cannot confirm this yet. In the pastoral areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, there are also some hybrid individuals in the pastures of herdsmen. Since hybrids between wild yaks and domestic yaks are often better than domestic yaks, some herders will deliberately attract wild male wild yaks to mate with their female domestic yaks during the breeding season to obtain hybrids. The market price of hybrids is often It is three to four times that of a domestic yak. This is undoubtedly a huge profit, but it also brings many problems.

Finally, wild yaks have more than one color. In addition to the most common black, there are also individuals with brown hair mixed with them. And some individuals have very gorgeous golden fur.

It’s super interesting 🤩

Yeah, I think they mentioned 16 DLC’s in the seasonal pass, but 2 of our DLC’s are in the deluxe edition which might indicate there will be 2 more DLC’s for PC
This is exactly what I am considering. They just released the PS5 version, so it's not possible to only release one DLC. It should be at the end of this year or at the end of the anniversary celebration. Then package this year's DLC and put it on the subsequent PS5

In last year's financial report, did they mention that they would launch a new Planet series game this year?

Then refer to JWE and PC, the last DLC is both large and has some gameplay updates. So the last DLC of pz may also be large. Not to mention the high status of PZ

It's insane how different they look. The wild yak is easily one of my most wanted animals I'd like to see in real life, they are just insane creatures.

Well, if you travel to Tibet or Qinghai, China, it is not difficult to see them in the wild. I have seen them a few times. Although they are far away, when a lone male adult wild yak stares at your car, You'd better leave quickly. Because it is probably angry that it has lost the right to mate because it has not beaten other males.

It was actually 14 and not 16. The math adds up when you consider that they released two as part of the Deluxe version of the game and assume they won't be releasing the pre-release exclusive animals (i.e., Deluxe PC version animals).

They could always just sell new DLC outside of the season pass or they could update the number of packs included. But there's no indication so far that new DLC would fall under the season pass.
